TJ Maxx & Save the Children

Last week I had the opportunity to attend the Teen Choice Awards gifting lounge at Magic Castle in Hollywood, CA hosted by T.J. Maxx to support Save the Children’s U.S. Programs. The event marked the 26 year partnership between them and together they have raised over $14 million dollars since 1984 and sponsors 939 children!! Isn't that the coolest thing? Celebrities attended to sign/decorate the bags to later be auctioned off on EBay during the weeks of August 9 and August 16. Also, for every bag signed, TJ Maxx donated $100 to Save the Children. Check out their Facebook page here or here.

For anyone not familiar with the Save the Children, it's a program to help children living in poverty helping to provide school supplies and clothing, and also helping with access to early childhood education, literacy and health programs in the United States.

As of August 2, T.J.Maxx stores nationwide are offering specially designed reusable tote bags featuring original children’s artwork. Each bag is $0.99, and all profits from the sale of these bags will go to Save the Children's U.S. Programs. The bags are so cute too! Much better than my plain basic black canvas one I've been toting around for odds/ends and groceries. Plus, they're pretty big and durable so they're a total steal for $0.99!!

Here are some of the celebrities that I personally saw at the event:

(Katie Cleary sat next to me while we had manicures, she's so beautiful and nice in person!)

(all pictures found here)

There were a TON of celebrities both days, so make sure to check out EBay and see if you can snatch one of the signed bags for yourself! Some of the celebrities I missed were Jackson Rathbone, Brittany Snow, Matt Lanter, Quinton Aaron, etc. If you want to see more pictures, click on the above link to check them out.

I had such a great time at the event! It was so much fun to meet so many people and see celebrities from some of my favorite shows. There were also a bunch of cool vendors and I did walk away with some swag. I'll definitely do a future post on it with some reviews!

Save the Children is an awesome program and helps so many kids nationwide, I'm thankful that I was able to attend the event and check it all out first hand.
