Recent Purchases: Fashion, Beauty, and Home

With fall basically here, even if it's still in the 100s, I've been on a little bit of a shopping spree getting some new post bump duds. There's so many great things out right now, I want one of everything! Sometimes, the start of a season can be slow fashion-wise, but I love everything that's out right now and have a hard time not adding it all to my shopping cart.

Spring is my favorite season and sometimes, I look forward to fall just for a change of routine, but it is by far not my favorite season. This year? It can't come soon enough!! For one, I'll have a sweet new baby in my arms and two, the high temps are killing me! I can't wait for 70s weather.

So, like I said, I've been on a bit of a spree and wanted to share with you all the great things I've found, almost all under $50 (the booties are under $100!) that you NEED for fall too!

Recent OOTDs + Recent Purchases

Here are a few outfits I've posted on Instagram that never made it to the blog until today! Getting dressed this pregnancy has probably been the easiest so far, but I can't wait to wear whatever I want. bout half and half of my clothes right now are maternity vs non-maternity and I should be able to wear almost all of them postpartum. Thank you loose fit!

Friday Faves

Happy Friday everyone! This is just a quick post, sharing a few favorites and thoughts from this week. I have some posts scheduled for next week and some pregnancy updates- and the gender reveal! I tried to get them done this week, but it was just too busy with work, my crazy girls, and lack of sleep.

OOTD: Bell Sleeves

Good morning everyone! How is everyone's first full week of the new year? Mine has been so-so, but I still feel great about the year and reaching my goals. Going back to work and waking up to an alarm has been pretty tough, and I forgot my keys in our other car on Tuesday! Oh my gosh you guys. At least each day is a new start right?

Today I'm sharing this gorgeous bell sleeve top (available in six colors!!) and is on sale for $12!! I love it! It's a nice thick fabric and is perfect with jeans and boots or slacks and heels. It's such a simple and chic top that's was to wear a bunch of different ways

OOTD: Dusty Rose

Happy Wednesday everyone!! I love my white moto leggings from Journey Five so much, I had to have them in their dusty rose too! They are seriously so comfortable, I know I'm gonna be wearing them all the time. How cute will this color be with a deep plum sweater? Or a grey crewneck and scarf? Oh the possibilities!!

Our Weekend

Happy (super late) Monday! I"m finally sitting down after a long day and it's even Tuesday for some of you! We had such a busy weekend, but it was so fun! We were out every night and had back to back activities and we stayed up way too late and were up way, way too early. What I would have given for today off or even an extra two hours asleep!!

Recent Purchases + #NSale

 photo B5CDC39F-7A30-4576-BF55-8F4272A17D09_zpsmrphwpku.jpg

Yay! My #nsale buys have arrived! Oh wait, I only bought ONE DANG THING from the sale. Everything sold out so quickly! I can’t believe it, next year I’m not gonna wait and instead buy all the things immediately. I did however, manage to buy a boatload of MAC (check out my fave lipsticks post) beauty products that I could have bought at anytime during the year. That’s just how life goes sometimes.

 photo FAC302C2-498E-4FFB-A8EE-B8748841D023_zpsjphcg5lc.jpg photo 1CA08DF6-2BCD-409D-96D0-1742DE4F7153_zps1oh6h9fo.jpg

These booties are a dream! I literally woke up at midnight and added them to my cart as soon as the sale started! I’m so glad I did too, because they sold out so quickly, and since I wear a size 10, there’s typically less of my size in stock. They are so pretty and soft in person and have nice cushioning inside so they should be comfortable for a full day of wear. I’m so happy I bought them, I can’t wait to wear them with skinnies and dresses. I would also really love to add some ankle height flat booties (maybe these?) to my closet too, they had a few pairs included in the sale, but all of them had sold out during early access.

 photo 70D5F119-57D9-45FF-AB9B-D4A44B8B2217_zps54dltqp8.jpg

I was so excited about these sunnies, they’re a gorgeous blue and I thought they would be a sure thing. The color and shape are super cute and they were totally perfect, however, they just dominated my face and I ended up returning them. I’m so bummed they didn’t work for me. That’s the biggest drawback to online shopping, you never know how things will fit! Clothing is a bit easier sometimes if you’ve bought that brand before or if there’s a lot of reviews in terms of sizing, but not much can help you with the fit of sunglasses.

 photo E5B1E079-4146-470F-B8CA-0C0E7A7234CC_zpsdf34iyob.jpg

This palette is so pretty!! The shades blend so beautifully together and are a really great mix of neutrals, making it super versatile for different skin tones and events. I’m not sure if I would call this a Holy Grail palette just yet (I want to play with it some more), but it is absolutely fantastic if you’re just starting out. It has fifteen eyeshadows, four permanent shades and four re-promoted shades. I think it’s more versatile than some of my other palettes in terms of every day shadow looks for me, I think I’ll wear more of these colors than I do in other palettes I own- 12 of 15 shades instead of 7 of 12, for example. The pots are full size, so it’s an amazing price point for the amount of shadows you get, and much more cost efficient than building your own palette through MAC.

Springsheen // Dollymix Blushes
So in my Currently Craving post I talked about how I’ve been wanting Lovecloud or Peony Petal and when I checked them out in person, they looked like every other pink blush I owned. If you’re new around here, I own a million pink blushes that all range from light pink, bright pink, cool, warm, blue hued, etc. The colors are gorgeous, but seemed too similar to my faves Pink Swoon and I’m A Lover. Instead, I ended up going with Springsheen, a beautiful pinky peach shade with a golden pearl finish and Dollymix a bright candy pink. Yes, I own a ton of pinks, I just said that, (dramatic pause), but this one is much brighter and has shimmer, where as my other pink blushes do not. SHIMMER guys, I obviously needed it. Honestly though, I felt that it was different enough to add to my growing pile of blushes. Springsheen is beautiful and almost has a highlighter built in, when I wore highlighter with it the first time, my cheecks were like “BAM! Look at me!”. Between the two, I thought I’d be wearing Dollymix every day, but I have found myself reaching for Springsheen more and more. It’s seriously a lovely shade that blends so prettily on the cheeks.

 photo D1C5F593-6BD0-4FDF-ADBA-AB981F272EFA_zpscjmah824.jpg photo 35E0205A-EBA9-446E-A9A3-DF0C4134E53D_zpsuyi0n0xc.jpg

A few weekends ago, I went through my makeup drawers and cleaned out under my sink and found 12+ MAC products that were empty, expired, or haven’t seen the light of day in I don’t know how many years. If I’m not going to use a bright purple eyeshadow, I may as well turn it in for a pretty nude lipstick right? Pure Zen has been on my radar for a while, it’s a frost warm nude and a lot of my lipsticks are a pink/nude color and I loved that this one had a peach nude feel to it with just a hint of pink. Crème D’Nude is a peach nude as well, but I think it’s more nude than peach and is a warm enough color to keep it looking like concealer or giving me “dead” lips. I’ve been wearing them both a ton and I’m happy to add them both to my beauty drawer.

How did your #NSale shopping go? Did you score a ton of great stuff? I literally just bought this top after stalking it daily, I can't believe it came back into stock! I'm so excited, I know literally everyone has bought it, but I can't help myself when it comes to stripes. They're such a staple item for me and so easy to wear and layer. Did you miss out on anything? Keep checking back!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! This week has flown by for me and I'm ready to relax with the family this weekend. Work has been busy and getting home is always a big shuffle and our nights slip right through my fingers. The girls have been so cute playing together and Emma heads for the stairs as soon as we put her down to get up there. She is so fast and just laughs and laughs as she climbs each step. She hasn't figured how to get down them so we have to watch her like a hawk.

I've been super busy planning her birthday party this week and getting things together and shopping for it. I still have a lot to buy and I need to nail down the menu, but I'm so excited with the direction it's going. I'm working with some really awesome shops and I'm excited to share everything soon. I've been driving myself crazy with what to get her too for her first birthday, what are some of your favorite items? So far we've bought her a chair and a latch puzzle and I don't know what else! Please share some ideas with me!

This week's Friday Favorites is a mix of beauty and fashion pieces, just a few things I've been wanting to share and review with you guys!

I’m not sure if you remember my Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette review (btw, it’s on sale for $25 now here and here!), but I was in the market for a new shadow palette and was looking at the Tarte Tartelette and Tartelette 2 In Bloom palettes and decided to instead get the UDxGwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette (which I LOVE). Even though I’m thrilled about the UD Palette, I still had the Tarte palettes on my mind. When Matt and I went to Vegas for our anniversary, I picked up this little Tarte Tease set (along with this highlighter) to test out their shadows. I love the colors in this palette, they’re beautiful and it has a great mix of matte and shimmer shades. It also has a slight vanilla scent to it as well, which I was surprised by, but like. This was my first experience with Tarte shadows so here’s a quick review: I get very little fallout from the shadows and the pigmentation is great, but they can be a touch chalky. They’re lasting power is so-so, with primer I get about 8-9 hours of wear. I’ve been loving using this palette, the size is great and I love the versatility of the colors. The shadows are true to color and work great for everyday wear. I’m still thinking about getting the Tartelette 2 In Bloom palette, it was on sale a few weeks ago and I didn’t get it and regret it now!

When it comes to my skin, I swear by Image Skincare and I was running low on my cleanser so I picked up this daily cleanser on a whim. My skin can be sensitive and is prone to drying, so I’m always worried when I try new face washes… and I freaking love it. It has only the slightest scent, removes my makeup, cleanses my skin, and is super mild. I’ve been using it for several weeks now and it’s really great! It doesn’t leave any residue and has a great consistency. It doesn’t foam when using my fingers, but foams nicely with my face brush. I typically shower at night and will use their makeup remover cleanser first to remove the majority of my makeup and follow up with this cleanser. After using both together, I rarely have any makeup residue. I’m pretty surprised by how well of a cleanser it is considering it’s available at drugstores. I will definitely continue to use this cleanser and would recommend it for anyone with sensitive skin.

I’ve included these shorts in some weekend post or another, but I had to include them in a Friday Favorites. I tried them on several times before biting the bullet and purchasing them and I’m so glad I did. They are super comfortable and the fabric is extra soft. Between being pregnant, postpartum, nursing, and weaning, my sizing has been all across the board. I’m so thankful for elastic waist everything right now!

I posted this pic on IG (kristen_lawler) a bit ago and I am just loving this Alex and Ani bracelet. A girlfriend gave it to me and I've worn it every day since. It was so sweet of her and I love how it looks with my watch, I picked up this L'Oreal Julianne's Nude thinking it was the Doutzen one, rookie mistake not to double check, but I'm loving it! It's the perfect pinky nude and very natural. This is my first L'Oreal lipstick and the formula is so creamy and moisturizing that I also bought Blake's Pink. The pink collection is matte and super dry, I much prefer the nude collection's formula over it. Influenster also sent me this Marc Jacobs Glow Stick and it's pretty on it's own, but I've been using it as a base for powder highlighters and it makes your cheeks pop!!

 photo 1A2E3A60-D848-4AE1-94D9-5E7D63C7745A_zpsijuxakug.jpg

We also received the sweetest bonnet from Little Sun Hat for Emma (it actually fits Ellie too!). It's adorable and reversible so we get twice the use from it. I love that it has a bill to keep forward to protect her from the sun, but that it can also be folded back. It's absolutely adorable and I love the sweet prints.

I've been living in this hat since it came in, it fits so perfect! I typically don't wear baseball caps, my head is kind of small, but this one is more shallow and it fits just right on my dome. If you've been on the hunt for one, check it out, I've been looking forward to the weekend all week just so I could wear it again!

Hope you all have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

OOTD: Baseball and Peplums

Sunnies // Top (I ordered a tall) // Shorts // Purse // Shoes

This last weekend we headed to the Angel's baseball game with some friends and it's been so hot here, I knew exactly what I wanted to wear. I've been dying to wear these white shorts and they did not disappoint. They fit perfectly and I'm so happy I snagged them! I love a good pair of white shorts, they just scream summer.

I'm so in love with this saddle bag too! I had my eye on it for a few weeks and went back and forth about it because I have a large tote I use that's the same color, but decided that it's just too cute to pass up! It's a great size and fit my giant wallet plus some extras and the tassel detail is adorable.

This week has felt so long to me, I swore all day on Tuesday that it was Wednesday and then kept thinking that Wednesday was Thursday. It's just been one of those weeks for me. Emma has been extra clingy and only wants me, she typically wakes twice a night and has been waking up three times instead. I don't know what it up! I've checked The Wonder Weeks app and she's at the end of a leap so I'm hoping this blows over soon. At least there's only two more days left!

OOTD: Crisp Celery + Recent Purchases

Emma: Bow (c/o) //  Romper // Moccs

Hello heatwave!! It's been crazy hot this past weekend and into the week and it's finally started to cool down a bit. We've had the AC cranking and had a whole house fan on Saturday and it's been so nice in the mornings at night and has been able to get our rooms extra chilly. I really hope it's not a sign of what to expect this summer.

First things first though- I needed to get some more shorts! My body has changed so much after this last pregnancy and unless they have an elastic waist, the majority of my shorts don't fit at all. I'm still nursing (we just started weaning) so I'm not sure how my or if my body will continue to change so I've bought two elastic waist shorts this year (these - I'm obsessed with this fun lime, and these) and two regular shorts, one of which is already too big now. I've been loving the elastic shorts though, so super comfortable and should fit even if my body continues to change. #momlife

 photo 5BAC1207-9868-4425-97C8-33E6C1E8106F_zpslpk7gmka.jpg

Thanks to a previous order (this bag and wedges), I had some Old Navy cash to spend and picked up this adorable tank (Medium Tall). It's not quite as bright in real life as the pic, but I love the peplum detail. I wish it was a thicker strapped tank or had sleeves, but I couldn't pass it up. It will look great in the fall with boots and a cardigan too as a transition piece. I'm so glad I ordered the tall though, it's the perfect length and will hide any burrito baby.

 photo BDDF2B8A-D8B1-4370-84FC-79A931BA15FF_zpsexmi98fz.jpg

Every summer, I always love a good pair of white shorts. These are so cute and fit great! I'm thinking they'll be perfect for a white on white outfit and want to try it with the lace top above. I'm loving that lace top too! I've been looking for an all lace one for a while now and couldn't pass this one up. It runs pretty small and I ordered a large and it fits like a snug medium. The body is completely lined and is pretty thick. If you're in the market for a lace top, I'd recommend this one.

Hope you're all having a great week! The weekend is just around the corner!

Our Weekend

Last week I was on vacation and today starts my first week back to the grind. We had such a great weekend and the girls actually slept in on Sunday! I didn't know it was possible. When we woke up we brought the girls to our bed for some snuggling, made french toast for breakfast with fresh blueberries, and then just did stuff around the house. It was so nice to be together with no schedule and stay at home. We're always on the go and I just relish these days without plans together.

Top (out of stock, similar here) // Shorts // Wedges
Saturday night Matt's work had a big social event so we got a little date night out. It was so fun and a lot of his coworkers all had kids around the same ages as our girls so we all had so much to talk about. Everyone he works with is so nice and it was great to meet their wives. I actually know a lot of them already from working at the same place back in college and through my girlfriend who also worked there for several years. The food was great and the company was a lot of fun. I know Matt enjoys working there, and I can see why! They were goofing off the whole night.

For my birhtday, my SIL and BIL gave me an Old Navy gift card and I picked up these two items with it. I've had my eye on this saddle bag forever and it's blush perfection! I've fallen in love with these Chloe espadrilles, but there's no way I would ever pay so much for a shoe! I saw these online and thought they were similar in style. I wasn't 100% on them, but they were super comfortable. I wore them out with the above outfit and they didn't hurt my feet at all! At the very end of the night, after 6+ hours in them, I had two spots on my feet that were getting a bit sore, but that's it. No real pain. That never happens ya'll. Go get yourself a pair.

We are taking family pics in August and Emma's outfit just came in and it's so cute!! I absolutely love this and I'm gonna pair it with a cute headband and matching moccs. The back opens up and I think it's gonna photograph really pretty. I want her to wear it now, but I'm afraid of it somehow getting ruined before our pics so I'm just gonna put it away for now.

I was just sent an 8 in 1 wand curler that I've been playing with and it's so fun. I'm going to play with it some more and try all the wand options and will be doing a full review soon. So far, I'm loving it. It's definitely different than using a curling iron with a clip, but I like how the curls are turning out! Do you use a wand or curling iron? Have any tips or YouTube video tutorials I can watch?

Hope you're all having a great week! Happy Monday, thank you for stopping by!

Friday Faves

Happy freaking Friday everyone!! I felt like it couldn't come fast enough. I don't have any crazy plans this weekend, I have to work a few hours tomorrow and then we're heading to a family birthday party for my niece. Then Sunday is NOTHING. Nothing. I can't wait! We're just going to head to church and do stuff around the house. Most importantly will be napping. Lots of napping... Who am I kidding? The only one in this house that naps is Emma, and if Ellie even thinks that I'm napping she likes to come over and pat my face, shower me with kisses, and sing me songs. All of which is very, very sweet, but does nothing to help or keep me asleep.

For today's post, I wanted to share with you guys some of my recent faves. There's some amazing shops, lipsticks, and beauty finds I've found and need to share. I've been posting about this stuff on my Instagram, but haven't had a chance yet to share it here. So this will be kind of a round up of some super awesome stuff that you should check out. Just some items I want to shout from the rooftops to anyone who will listen.

First up is this beautiful jewelry and if you follow me on Instagram, you'll already know that I've been living in this Mia and Mac necklace and earrings. This year will be our fifth wedding anniversary, and I wanted something special with our wedding date and this vertical bar and circle charm is perfection! It's so simple, chic, and feminine, I have literally worn them every single day for weeks now. The gold bar earrings are also on repeat. Enjoy 20% off your order with "Kristen20" at check out too! I also love these infinity earrings and necklace and these heart earrings are adorbs!

Ever since Emma started teething, she has started drooling non-stop. It’s crazy! She has 0 teeth, but I feel like she’s been teething for months! Ollie and Olina sent me these gorgeous bibs and I absolutely love them! My first thought when they were delivered was how well made they were, they’re great quality! They’re nice and thick, really soft, with a terry cloth backing, and I just love the sweet designs and prints. The bibs also have two snaps to grow with your child so you can use them for longer. She also makes matching quilts and burp cloths that are to die for! They would make the sweetest gift for any expectant mommy, just beautiful and special pieces that would last a lifetime.

Now that spring is here, I’m all about the pink lipsticks. Ha ha ha I’m joking, I always love pink lips! Thanks to late night feedings and Target, I’m now the proud owner of four new lipsticks. You know, because you can never have enough. Silly and Long Legged & Fabulous are both from the MAC Flamingo collection, Silly is a fabulous matte shade while Long Legged and Fabulous is the perfect pale Barbie pink. Revlon’s Balm sticks are seriously the best! They are super creamy and smell amazing! They’re really moisturizing and this color in Showy is so fun. Then, as if I needed another pink, I also went and bought NYX Matte Lip Cream in Tokyo. I love NYX makeup, it is really a great quality and Target just expanded the line at their stores which makes is much easier to shop!

 photo E669C520-B0F1-477C-AF16-D350F3E903BB_zpsmjedlnsi.jpg

You guys, you need to RUN and buy yourself this Real Techniques Blending Sponge! Run! It is so amazing and I swear my makeup looks flawless now. It’s so soft and squishy and blends your foundation and concealer beautifully. I run it under water and give it a good squeeze 2-3 times and then use it to blend my makeup in and I seriously love it. I don't think there's another sponge that could possibly be better. The shape offers different sides and shapes that really help to blend perfectly in tough spots.

Those are my gems guys! These four things have been used and worn daily in the Lawler household and because I'm a loud mouth, I just couldn't help but share them with you guys. Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a wonderful weekend!! What are some of your recent faves? Have you found anything that you just couldn't live without?

Spring Haul for the Girls and a Little Something for Me!

Spring is my jam people. It's my favorite season and all the bright colors, pastels, sandals, rompers, and swim suits just call my name. Since I live in California, where El Nino is no where to be seen, spring pretty much starts like the second week of January. It's been in the high 80s for the last few weeks (it did rain yesterday though) and I've had to dig for some short sleeves and shorts for the girls. I've picked up a few things for them, so we're ready now for those high temps!

Target has the cutest spring items right now, I wanted to buy one of everything! I got these during the week and I can't wait for the girls to wear them! I love all the bright colors and I'm already picturing cute outfits and matching bows. I love all the bright colors and patterns they have this season. They had so much to choose from! The gladiator shoes are my favorite!

Old Navy also had some steals for their President's Day sale and I somehow only snagged these two dresses. They have a ton of cute everything right now, but with Easter and birthdays coming up for the girls, I've learned not to buy too many clothes. They get so much stuff as gifts and it's best to buy just what they need (yay for summer babies!). How cute will these dresses be with the bows below??

How sweet are these bows? I love their shape and colors! The nylon band is extra soft and I have a giveaway coming up later this month so be sure to keep an eye on my Instagram!!

My palettes came in and I have been loving them!! I've worn all of the blush colors and the shadows are super neutral and beautiful. I'll be doing a full review of both soon (I've been working on it this week), but if you're on the fence about getting them or are in the market for a new palette, I would definitely say to snag these!

Hope your Friday work shifts are short and your weekend long! Thanks for reading!

Recent Purchases: Mama and Ellie

Being home on maternity leave means I have way too much time on my hands for shopping. We go to the mall weekly, the grocery store and Target way too many times each week, and my nightly nursing shopping habits have returned. Oh my goodness, don't even get me started on how much I want to demo my house thanks to HGTV. Here are a few things I picked up the last couple of weeks I wanted to share for the Eleanor and I:

Chambray Shift
I picked up this dress for Ellie for when the weather drops a bit. It's has a nice thickness to it making it more fall appropriate and I can't wait for her to wear it with some cute tights or fun printed leggings this year.  I also loved this dress, but they didn't have her size so I'll have to pick it up online.

These tees were too cute to pass up and I would love that Home one in my size. She has a pair of black and white striped leggings I think will pair really cute with the Happiness top.

Frozen Hat // Polka Dot Jeans
Ellie has been wanting a hat lately and when she saw this she fell in love. She was so excited about it that I had to get it for her. She also needs some new jeans for the season and I love how cute these polka dot ones are.

Heart Leopard Dress
How cute is this dress?? It even has pockets! It will be so adorable on it's own, over tights, or with leggings.

Kitty Shirt
LOVE this kitty shirt for Ellie. In the back it has a little open area with a bow detail that's absolutely adorable.

Bunny Shirt
We all know my obsession with Alice in Wonderland and this shirt just sings to it. I love the colors, the tea cups, and the bunny. My little bunny just had to have it.

I'm mad for plaid every fall season and this tunic is so cute and I love the cut. It's a bit more "dressy" and will be perfect paired with leggings and boots. I saw this one at Target that I want to go back for, it's super cute.

I love a good striped tee and would like to find another one that's more fitted and have stripes closer together to also add to my closet. This tee is super soft and is so easy to just toss on to run some errands and was the perfect top for the weekend. One thing I definitely need after my major closet clean out, is some just basic tees for the weekends and this fits the bill.

For my sister's wedding, I picked up all these goodies. For my nails/toes I wanted a lighter pink than my usual go-to Essie Fiji and was all out of Ballet Slippers so I picked up a new bottle. Of course, I left it at the salon so I had to go back. I didn't want to have to buy another bottle when I just bought one! Sheesh.

For my lips, I also needed a primer so my lipstick and gloss would stay on. I would be talking all night with everyone and didn't want to have to keep reapplying my lips and this primer was the bomb!! I really like it a lot and gave my lipstick some major staying power!

I was on the hunt for a new highlighter (did you catch my highlighters post last week?) and really wanted to check out Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator and Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector, but they were sold out of both at the mall! Ugh. I didn't have time to order it online so I snagged NYX Narcissistic and it's amazing. It has a light peach sheen to it that looks fantastic in the sun! I still want both those highlighters, I've heard so much about them from everyone.

Finally, after Meg's post, I picked up this face primer as well. My sister's wedding was outside and it was going to be a hot and humid day and I could just picture my makeup melting right off my face. Since I've only used this once, I can't do a full review, but so far color me impressed. Meg never steers me wrong though! My makeup looked amazing at the end of the night still and I had cried like a freaking baby. I really like the texture and how it feels on my face and once I've used it more I'll definitely be doing a full review!

What goodies have you seen lately? What are you on the look out for? Any suggestions for my makeup bag or closet? Hope you're all have a fantastic week!
