OOTD: Date night
Matt and I had a nice little sushi date last week and I couldn't wait to get dressed up! Matt loves a girl in jeans so I make sure to always wear them when we go out together. I bought these jeans last autumn and they're my favorite jeans ever! I've had other Rockstar jeans from Old Navy, and I'm not sure how these are different, but they're so much fit than my other ones! They fit like a glove and are so comfy! They're my go-to jeans any time we're going out.

OOTD: Crisp Celery + Recent Purchases
Hello heatwave!! It's been crazy hot this past weekend and into the week and it's finally started to cool down a bit. We've had the AC cranking and had a whole house fan on Saturday and it's been so nice in the mornings at night and has been able to get our rooms extra chilly. I really hope it's not a sign of what to expect this summer.
First things first though- I needed to get some more shorts! My body has changed so much after this last pregnancy and unless they have an elastic waist, the majority of my shorts don't fit at all. I'm still nursing (we just started weaning) so I'm not sure how my or if my body will continue to change so I've bought two elastic waist shorts this year (these - I'm obsessed with this fun lime, and these) and two regular shorts, one of which is already too big now. I've been loving the elastic shorts though, so super comfortable and should fit even if my body continues to change. #momlife
Thanks to a previous order (this bag and wedges), I had some Old Navy cash to spend and picked up this adorable tank (Medium Tall). It's not quite as bright in real life as the pic, but I love the peplum detail. I wish it was a thicker strapped tank or had sleeves, but I couldn't pass it up. It will look great in the fall with boots and a cardigan too as a transition piece. I'm so glad I ordered the tall though, it's the perfect length and will hide any burrito baby.
Every summer, I always love a good pair of white shorts. These are so cute and fit great! I'm thinking they'll be perfect for a white on white outfit and want to try it with the lace top above. I'm loving that lace top too! I've been looking for an all lace one for a while now and couldn't pass this one up. It runs pretty small and I ordered a large and it fits like a snug medium. The body is completely lined and is pretty thick. If you're in the market for a lace top, I'd recommend this one.
Hope you're all having a great week! The weekend is just around the corner!

Pink Plaid for the Win!
This scarf is probably my most favorite scarf ever- and that says a lot because I have tons of scarves! I bought it at the end of September and have been impatiently waiting for cooler temps so I could wear it. I finally got the chance last week when California started experiencing "cold" weather. I snagged this tunic during the Nordstrom half yearly sale and it's on sale again for $25! I might just have to order it again in a different color. What I like so much about it is that's it's really easy to wear, it goes well tucked in or out (you can see in the pics) and is thin so it's easy to layer without overheating.
I'm trying to post more often, sorry I've been so MIA lately. I've had a bit of a writer's block and the girls have been sick, and we've been really busy so I've just been passing out after putting the girls down for bed. My goal for the new year is to post at least three times a week.
What are some of your favorite posts? What would you like to see on the blog?

Recent OOTDs
Over here in CA, our weather is all over the place. Today and tomorrow are supposed to get pretty cold, but the rest of the days are freezing in the morning and mid 80s by the afternoon. I have a few sweaters and scarves I've been wanting to wear, but it's just too dang hot! I've been wearing a lot of the same items repeatedly lately. We're also going through some dress code changes at work so I've been dressing pretty boring to stay within the guidelines (no bright colors, long slacks, nylons, it's pretty dated). Hopefully, I'll be able to get some more outfits posted soon, especially some more work ones- I always like to see what people wear to work and get inspiration for the ho hum of the work week.
I haven’t actually worn this top yet, but I bought it and tried it on at home. I plan on wearing it to Thanksgiving with these jeans and some booties. I spotted it at Target and immediately tossed it in my cart. The jacquard detailing is really pretty and is such a pretty cream color, the sleeves have a darker underside which looks great when you roll them for a more casual look. Target has been killing it in sweaters this season, I saw a ton of really cute ones when I got this one.
I’m so glad I snagged this top a few weeks ago, it’s so easy to wear and washes well. It’s cute for both work and personal life and is great to layer with cardigans and sweaters. When I was pregnant, I had these pants in the maternity version and I bought two more non-maternity pairs for work. I really like them and think they fit true to size, I want to get the navy color as well. I love the ankle length, but we are no longer allowed to wear ankle length pants at work and I’m pretty bummed about it.
This cardigan is so soft and it's the one from my Closet Clean Out post that I was on the fence about. It's definitely too casual for work, but I'm glad I kept it. These skinnies are super comfortable and soft too, I've thought about distressing them and making some holes, but I'm too scared to do it and ruin them.
I’m so completely obsessed with this sweater! I’ve been wearing it nearly non-stop, it’s just so comfortable. I wish I had bought it in more colors and I went back to the store and they didn’t have my size left (crying face emoji), so I’m going to order the fig online. If you’re looking for a great pair of leggings, I’d definitely check out White Plum’s, theirs are so soft and comfortable, they are honestly my favorite leggings to date.
Another repeat, this tulip sleeved top is one of my favorites. Most of the time I’ll tuck it in for work and leave it untucked if I pair it with jeans on the weekend. It’s lovely with a skirt too. I have the top in lime as well and want to get it in black. The tulip sleeves are just so soft and pretty, I love feminine details like that.
Happy Thanksgiving eve! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday!!

Sandals I'm Loving
1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8 //
Sandals are staples for me and since I live in the California sun, I get to wear them all year. It's crazy to follow people all over the US and see how drastic the weather can change from one coast to the other. Luck for everyone warm weather is just around the corner and I've been drooling over some sandals I just had to share. As you can see, I'm a fan of neutrals although several of them come in varying colors. #1 in hot pink and green! I'm in love with 1,3, and 7 and have them in my carts ready for check out.

InstaLately Link Up 10
My gift wrap finally done! Every year I think I enjoy wrapping, but then when it comes down to it, I seriously loathe it. I picture myself making gorgeous wrapping and bows, drinking hot cocoa, watching Christmas movies and singing carols and it's nothing like that. I blame Martha Stewart.
I LOVE getting mail addressed like this! Love, love, love it!
This baby could eat nothing but fruit all day everyday
Getting pink packages from Kiki La'Rue is the best. It instantly makes your day!
My nails for the holiday; Sinful Colors black, Essie Luxeffects Set in Stones, and Sephora for OPI Only Gold for Me.
Steve Madden Intyce Boots, Nordstrom Colored Denim, F21 Sweater
Since my beloved Costco Salted Caramels will never return, someone suggested these babies to me. They're pretty good. Not nearly as great as Costco's, but will hold me over.
FINALLY saw Les Miserables. I've been waiting for this movie to come out. I die. I loved every minute of it. Especially the minutes with Eddie Redmayne. Swoon.

OOTD: They Call Me Mellow Yellow

H&M Dress (can't find on the site)
Nordstrom BP Belt (old)
Qupid Wedges from GoJane (old)
Jewelry: F21 Necklace, Bracelets Derng and Tiffany, Michael Kors Watch
The more OOTD pics I take the more I realize we need a better camera, my hubs need to take photography classes, and I need to learn how to use photoshop.
This dress is one of my new favorites, in real life it's almost a neon yellow. I love the lace overlay on the white, it's so fun and chic. I saw the dress a little bit ago at H&M, but the sizing just didn't fit me right and the price was great on it's own, but not low enough to also have it altered. Then H&M had it for half off over Labor Day weekend, boom. Sold. I couldn't wait to wear it before having it altered though so I just belted it. I plan on having it taken in because I'm almost swimming in it and then it will fit perfectly. I think it will look cute this fall with some boots and a trench.

Sorry if you follow me on Instagram (Kristen_Lawler) because these will all be repeats. Since I leave at 6 and my husband leaves for work at 415 I really don't have anyone to take my OOTD pics except for the weekends so these will have to suffice. I'll try to be better at getting some good shots.

2. GoJane Floral Crochet Dress (see full dress and open back here), Qupid wedges

I'm in love with these spiked sandals from GoJane, they go with everything. Just be sure not to sit Indian style, the spikes will dig into your legs!

Picked these puppies up at F21, the bag is my favorite! I love the white and gold paired together.
Chain necklace available in Silver
It has been ridiculously hot this week, I'm trying to use up all my summer outfits before fall comes. This whole year and especially this summer has seriously just flown right by!
Oh and did you see my post for Summer Hairstyles at According to Jax? Check it out!
