Bumpdate Week 33

 photo h9991482_001_zpse07e7aa4.jpg
I had my 32 week appointment on Friday and our little girl is still Frank Breech! The above picture shows you the position she's in. I need to get her to turn her booty around or a C-section is in my future. With my last appointment, we found that she's in this position, but I wasn't too worried about it- I thought she would turn and we'd call it a day. Now that she's still in this position, I'm beginning to slightly freak out.

I'm not afraid of having a C-section, I trust my doctor fully and want what's best for our baby to be born healthy, but I'd rather have a vaginal birth than C-section. I also wrote that last sentence before I Googled C-sections and now I'm kind of nervous to have one. There's definitely pros and cons to both ways of delivery, but overall and most importantly I want to deliver a healthy baby.

On my Facebook page I asked mommies if they had any tips in getting their little ones to turn and was told about acupuncture (which my big sis said too), stretches, using tones in the direction we want the baby to move, and using a cold pack where the baby's head is so they turn away from it. I've been doing exercises everyday to help her turn and I've been praying about it. One night we were able to get her to turn horizontally using all of the above techniques, but she wouldn't turn any further and turned back breech about 20 minutes later. I can tell when she's in the breech position because of where her head is and the shape of my belly and when she turned it completely changed, but now she's definitely back in the Frank Breech positioning again.

I'm open to all suggestions so please comment below! Also, have you had a C-section? What was your experience?

Matt and I had a Baby Basics class on Tuesday. The class was really useful, we learned signs of illness, what to expect in the dirty diapers (with photos- yay), how to swaddle, bath, and take a temperature.

We start our Lamaze class tomorrow for the next month and I'm really looking forward to the class- although if I have a C-section these classes are unnecessary and my Dr advised I won't need to take them.

How far along?  32 weeks (Each bumpdate reviews the week previous)

Total weight gain: 15.6lbs! I knew my guess last week was right! I've finally start to gain some weight and my Dr is so happy, although he did mention it's STILL not enough, and we went over my diet again (which he said is fine and healthy).

Stretch marks?: Besides Stretch Mark Gate (read about it here  in Week 28) I haven't had any more pop up and the few I have on the underside of my chest have not grown or gotten worse.  I've started using Body Spa Cell.U.Lift Firming Body Lotion every morning after my shower and starting using the  Burt's Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter each night before bed (when I remember). The Body Spa Cell.U.Lift is amazing, it makes your skin all tingly and I love the minty scent. I've started putting it on some marks I have on my hips from a childhood growth spurt- I'll definitely do a review.

Maternity clothes: Same as the last few weeks, wearing my regular clothes, but each week my closet is growing smaller and smaller. I just don't want to buy any tops that I'll be wearing for less than 2 months. So yes, you'll see any pictures of me in the same outfits on repeat.

I'm still wearing my Old Navy Maternity Smooth-Panel Rockstar Jeggings  (I bought two pairs) and my Kiki La'Rue Jeggings (which aren't maternity, but fit below my belly).  I love these pants, they're all I wear at this point in the game.

This week I made some pearl bracelets for the baby. I couldn't find infant size anywhere and wanted one to bring her home in. I also made a larger one for my niece so we can start the matching outfits early!

Belly Button in or out?: Half and half right now, the top has been out for a while but I had a huge growth spurt Thursday night and my belly button is halfway out now. It looks so weird! I don’t think it will be out that far, but you never know.

Sleep: I'm waking up only once a night and there have been two nights I was able to sleep right through without waking. I'm still hot close to morning and my hips have some pain. On Monday I was just uncomfortable overall and felt like everything hurt when I awoke. I picked up some Tylenol but haven't had to use it yet.

Best moment this week: Seeing baby in the sonogram at our appointment and starting the baby classes! I can't wait to hold her. Her arrival is getting so close!!

Worst moment this week: The moment I decided it would be a good idea to Google C-sections.

The lace bloomers I ordered on Groopdealz forever ago finally came in! I can't wait to put her little rump in them, they're so frilly!

Have you told family and friends: Yes!

Miss Anything? Sleeping comfortably.

Movement: Tons! Her movements are so large and she moves so often I don't need to count her kicks (thankfully). Hopefully, she shimmy's her way to face head down.

I bought this cute makeup bag for the diaper bag from Groopdealz (buy here). I ordered option 4 with her initial. It doesn't match the diaper bag whatsoever, but I loved the print. I thought it would be good to keep liquids contained in a chic way.

Food cravings: Pineapple juice, milk, popcorn with Tapatio, and strawberries.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing.

Have you started to show yet: Absolutely!

Gender: Team pink!

I also ordered two headbands from this Groopdealz (order here

Symptoms:Tiredness, minor hip pain, and dry skin.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, happy, happy!

Looking forward to: Seeing our maternity photos, my second baby shower, and hanging decoration in the nursery.

I had a c-section with my twins and it was a breeze - honestly! I think the key thing with c-sections is getting a planned one. I think a lot of the scarier issues happen when you have an emergency c-section 1) because you're body is already exhausted from going into labor 2) because there is urgency in getting the baby out so your incision may be larger.

Of course having a natural birth usually results in less recovery time (usually dealing with some stitching rather than abdominal surgery) but I just wanted to reassure you that a c-section is not scary - the only pain I felt was when they out the spinal block in - that's it...and I'm a wimp for pain so I'd be the first one complaining usually lol. Feel free to email me if you had any c-section questions - of course I'm not an expert, but I was apprehensive before my delivery too ! Hugs!

My good friend had the same thing happen with her little babe in January. She went in for them to try and turn him manually in her stomach, and he didn't budge. Babies can be stubborn some times. ha. She did end up having a planned C-Section and she said it went great and her recovery went well too. She also was able to breastfeed just fine, which I know she was worried about. (she also got a bit of a tummy tuck that just went with her normal incision closure and she was pumped about that. hahaha)

I have had 2 c-sections, one not planned and one planned. They are not that bad. I definitely felt better and recovered faster from the planned c-section. It's not fun having an incision in your belly but I think I'd rather have stitches there than downstairs!

I'm sorry I can't speak about a C-section (I didn't have one) but I just wanted to say that I love the pic of your husband holding the fake baby. Please tell him he looks good holding baby dolls...err...babies. Just think - he will soon be holding your own baby. Awesome.
I am a new reader and love your blog!

I had a c-section for my first and VBAC's for my second and third. Physically, the c-section was not too bad...not that much of a difference than my first VBAC actually. But I did prefer the VBAC's because they are more of that birth experience that you see on TV/movies. I probably put too much pressure on the birth experience...ultimately it's such a short part of your time with your child and as long as the baby is healthy, who really cares. I hope it all works out for you!

Hey! Have you tried the Spinning Babies exercises? I used some of those to turn my baby from posterior to anterior & it worked! I've also heard great things about acupuncture!

I been sleeping on my left side (oohh it is always so sore)...because they told me that would help position the baby..I am not even sure if my baby is normal positioned!

I think most of us want a regular birth...c sections don't look exciting...but in the end what matters is healthy baby.

I used to think c sections were scarier until I read more about vag birth. Is there a third option? I'm terrified of both!

Ugh. Sorry. That helped you not at all. I was trying to say, don't be scared! I don't know how to turn your baby around, but I have no doubt your doc will do what s/he has to and in no time, you will have your lil bunny in your arms! :-)

I found out at my 36 week appt that my son was frank breech too. I wasn't willing to do an external version because of its low success rate and the risks involved ( manually turn baby) so I scheduled a planned csection. I was somewhat bummed I didn't get to experience the first pangs of labor but in the end my son is healthy and that's all that matters. Recovery wasn't that bad either... Ask for Painkilllers before you leave. You need them for about 7 to 10 days post surgery.

I hope this doesn't make you nervous but my sons legs came out spread apart and up Ike a frog). It is just because he was stuck like that in the womb. It does go down but no one told me that so just don't worry. It's very common with frank breech babies and my son is healthy .

I live your blOg!

Kristin, my baby boy was breech, the little stinker. You wouldn't believe the awful things people said to me about c-sections. We were totally lost on what to do, but in the end decided to go with the c-section. It was a breeze. I was more nervous then i have ever been but my dr is amazing. He even stitched me up from the inside so i wouldn't have a scar that looked like a train track. Turns out I have a bi-cornuate uterus and there was no chance of flipping that baby. You do what you feel is best, don't let google or other people scare you. A scheduled c-section is safe! I will admit to the pain the next two days, but the hospital takes care of you! and they keep it minimal, i was way more excited about my new baby then i was worried about pain

Don't freak out about a c-section. I had an emergency c-section after being stuck at 7 cm for almost 8 hours. I was so scared & my mom nearly lost it when they said they needed to send me in for surgery but it turned out do well that I'm actually relieved now that it went the way that it did. I recovered within about 2 weeks. My scar was still a bit tender but I was up & moving & feeling great. Feel free to email me with any questions you have:)

I'm still having trouble viewing your blog on a computer (says something called "swsmag.net" installed on your page is causing the malware thing to pop up. So I'm reading on my phone. I'm determined!! Anyway, I had a c/s after a long L&D process. I hope that you are able to get baby girl to turn, but a c/s isn't that terrible. I think it would have been even easier if I didn't labor for that long and then have a c/s. you are going to be great, mama! All that matters is that you have a healthy baby in your arms!!

I've read your more recent post, and I know you've come to terms with it! But I can't imagine the feelings you were going through when you first found out! :(

That pearl bracelet is adorable!! :)
