People Magazine's 10 Best Dressed

People Magazine came out with their 10 Best Dressed for this year. Here's the list:
-Jennifer Aniston
-Rihanna
-Jessica Alba
-Lea Michele
-Zoe Saldana
-Gwen Stefani
-Kate Middleton
-Rachel Bilson
-Olivia Palermo
-Diane Kruger

Do you agree? For the most part I do, I don't think that Jennifer Aniston should be on there- she so boring and she had a lot of so-so moments this year, Rihanna would be on my list for last year, but I feel that this year she's in a weird transition period for her style. Gwen Stefani does always look fabulous, but I don't know many people who copy her style because it's not something most everyday women can pull off. Kate Middleton- she's Prince William's boo if you don't recognize her name. I wouldn't list her just because most people don't really know who she is.

Here's my updated 10 Best Dressed for 2010 to replace those four, but keeping the remaining six:

-Blake Lively: She always looks fabulous and sexy!
-Cameron Diaz: This year's Oscar dresses blew me away! Plus her everyday style is gorgeous.
-Dakota Fanning: Love her red carpet choices and she always dresses her age.
-Lady Gaga: Would I wear everything she does? Hell no. Do most everyday women wear what she wears? Hell no. But is she not afraid to be who she is and uses fashion to make a statement? Hell yes and that's why she's on my list.

Who's on your list? What do you think of People's 10 Best Dressed?

The Summer Styles I Want

Summer and Spring are my favorite seasons, it's warm, shorter hemlines emerge, slushies move to the forefront pushing hot chocolate to the back, vacations begin and love is in the air. For this summer, I want a fun, classy and feminine look to emerge and I plan on going through my clothes in the next two weeks to sort through and donate unwanted items. I'm no longer in college and in two weeks I'll be on the downhill of my 20s (I've already started my sobbing). Here are looks that I've been loving and plan on dressing similar too by wearing my old stuff a different way (maybe altering some sleeves, hemlines, maybe taking in some seams and getting "new" skinny jeans?), wearing different accessories, etc. and adding some key pieces to my wardrobe. This will all be in addition to my Spring 2010 Fashion.

One shoulder dresses/tops

White is hot year round and I love one-shoulder cuts (I already own several items this style) I did find a similar one to this on Lulus, but I'm afraid it might make me look prego. Also, this is a great cut for me and anytime you can wear a bra it's a plus in my book, even if it's only one strap.

Using leopard print to punch up my outfits

I love bright colors and adding a leopard accessory is a quick pick me up to any outfit.

Feminine, dressy tops with shorts

Swoon! I'm so in love with this 70s vibe, the floral shorts are super cute and the first top would look great with jeans, skirts, or shorts. I love the second look, so classy and fun *don't forget the heart sunglasses! Hilary Duff's outfit would be the perfect date look or afternoon BBQ.

Hats!

I own several fedoras (I was (still am) really into Britney) and need to make more use of them!

Cleaning out my closet and seeing what I already have I'm hoping to re-utilize and shop my wardrobe to create a lot of new looks. Have you started your spring cleaning? Have you switched your winter wardrobe out? What looks are you excited to wear, new and old?

Get It Riri!

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

So, Rihanna has been in a little bit of a fashion slump recently....see here and here. I figure she's just going through a fashion change and those can definitely get awkward sometimes. Well, with the Kids' Choice Awards this weekend and spring all up in the air, Riri looked HOT!! I loved her dress (she added the shoulder pads to the original dress), her make-up and hair looked so fresh! I really love her short hair and I'm really feeling the look here with the black color in the front- I think it's a great way to play with color outside of the box. Also, her lipstick is gorgeous! The socks with pumps I could have gone without, but she rocked the new trend and didn't look too bad doing it. Woohoo for Riri!

What do you think of her look?

The New Lead for Bad Santa 3

Photobucket

Riri, I know you're kind of in a transitional period with your style. I get that. Also, I know this is a costume and I'm all for costumes and wackiness a la Lady Gaga. Please get a new stylist though, you're gorgeous, a style icon, and a role model for many. There's no reason you should have a better wardrobe, in fact, just shop around in your current one.

I'm In Love With White Dresses

I started noticing a trend in my picture file and it's white dresses. I adore white, it's one of my favorite colors and if I had to wear one thing for the rest of my life it would be a white v-neck tee I think.

White can definitely be worn year round, no more wearing it until Labor Day. The key to wearing white in the winter time is really paying attention to the material and weight of the item. Anything too thin should definitely be kept for the warmer months. Some of these pictures are from earlier this year, but could still totally be rocked this winter. An easy way to winterfy white is to add a cool jack- a leather one like Rumer Willis, add tights like Rose Byrne, or a heavy statement necklace a la Emma Roberts. Most of these ladies accessorized with black, but red, blue or even a pink would look fabulous too!

Oh No! It's Catching On!

Photobucket
I may have to reconsider Rihanna as a style inspiration after this...and this....and this. I know she tries all kinds of new stuff and looks different all the time, and I commend her for that, but lately her style risks have flunked. Fanny packs are just a Don't in my book, regardless of who's wearing it or made it. I know they make sense- it keeps your hands free, but I'm going to still keep my fingers crossed that they disappear.

I Don't Even Know What To Call This

PhotobucketPhotobucket
Rihanna has been rocking this look for a little while now and I just don't know what to make of it. I love Riri, but what is going on with your hair? Your beauty and style is so cutting-edge, but I'm a little lost here. Any thoughts? Have you seen other ladies out there with this look?

A New Nail Trend

A new trend brewing is long pointy nails, a la Freddy Kruegger. Rihanna and Beyonce have both been sporting them lately, and although these ladies are always right on with the trends and crreating new ones all the time, couldn't they have skipped this one? I'm not really feeling it.

I tried to get a better picture, or crop these ones, but it didn't turn out so well. If you look really closely at Beyonce, you can see that hers too are also pointy and gold- which metallic is going to be a huge trend this fall. What do you think? Would you wear the dagger-like nail?

The New Shaved Head Trend

It first started with Cassie:

Now Rihanna

Although these ladies can pull it off (as well as any female can pull off a half shaved head anyways, plus they're famous so that gives them some kudos), I don't think I'll be jumping on this bandwagon any time soon.

Celebrity Inspirations

What celebrity inspires you? Is it their personality, work, style?
Here are a few of mine:
Anne Hathaway- she can do no wrong in my book! Talented, old Hollywood glamour, and genuine
PhotobucketPhotobucket
Ashley Tisdale- great style & hair, she's not afraid of being goofy
PhotobucketPhotobucket
Rihanna- talented, a natural beauty, and isn't afraid of trying something new and edgy
PhotobucketPhotobucket
Julianne Hough- man this woman can dance!, I'm obsessed with her hair, and we're both from Utah
PhotobucketPhotobucket
Cameron Diaz- the ultimate "boys girl" and "girls girl", down to earth, low-key style
PhotobucketPhotobucket
Leighton Meester- I love her character Blair, her hair and make-up are always perfect
PhotobucketPhotobucket

I also love Jessica Szohr's street style, she's always wearing bright colors and amazing shoes and
Diane Kruger is always pushing the envelope and wearing beautiful dresses. Camilla Belle is so beautiful and has really grown with her style. She has old Hollywood glamour too. Natalie Portman is also to die for along with Jennifer Garner who is the ultimate girl next door.
