My sister and aunt threw a baby shower for me last weekend and when they asked me what I wanted to do, I said eat, swim, and relax. It was the perfect day and the water was amazing! We had good food- crescent sandwiches, pasta salad, green salad, shrimp cocktail, fruit, and a mimosa bar (with sparkling cider for the preggos/kids), good company, and good weather!
I wanted to get a new suit for the party and since it's the end of summer I thought I'd have a hard time finding a cute one, but Pink Blush always saves the day! I have seriously basically only worn Pink Blush this whole pregnancy- they just have everything I need. I saw this maternity swim top, added to cart immediately and it was on my doorstep two days later. I just love them!

OOTD + Little Critter Baby Shower
This past weekend, we had party after party for our little boy. It was such a busy and fun weekend! I felt so loved and I can't wait for him to join us and meet everyone! I'll post about both showers, but wanted to share this one with you first!
It was a little critter theme and it was so cute!! I wanted to get a new dress that went with the color scheme, and this Pink Blush one was perfect! I love their dresses and they're all so comfortable, it was so hot that day, but I was just as comfortable in this dress as I would be in anything else. The colors were gorgeous too- a pretty pinky peach and orange.

OOTD: My 8 Month Mommy Uniform
With each baby, I always forget how hard the last month is for getting dressed. I'm basically living in my Pink Blush dresses (this navy and floral one are getting me through!), but when I'm just home or running errands I've been loving these Pink Blush crops.
It's been so hot here and I'm back to feeling tired often, plus everything makes me out of breath!! I totally forgot about that part and I feel like it's even worse now that I'm chasing after two kiddos instead of just one. I'm not quite counting down the days until our little one's arrival yet, there's still more things I enjoy about pregnancy than not, but that list is getting slimmer!

OOTD: Navy + Denim
Hello loves! Hope you're all doing well, sorry to be MIA last week. These last two weeks have been pretty busy and tiring for me. I feel like I'm in the first trimester again and I'm tired all the time. We still don't have a birthdate yet for this little nugget, I should be finding out this week though at my next appointment. I can't wait to have his birthdate on the calendar!
For his nursery, I've taken down Emma's artwork (I still need to move them over to Ellie's and create a new gallery wall) and have FINALLY ordered some artwork for his room. I have a laundry list of things I want to do before he arrives, one of which I'm dreading. I need to get Emma out of her (soon to be his) crib and into a big girl bed. Any tips?? Wanna come over and do it for me? Pretty please?

OOTD: Florals
Hello and happy hump day! I'm so excited for this short week, although I'm totally thrown off today thinking it's Monday and not Wednesday! Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July yesterday! We kicked it off Monday night with strawberry shortcake and fireworks with friends. The girls loved watching the fireworks! I thought the sound might scare Emma, but she loved them! Yesterday we BBQ'd with family and swam all day. We also started playing Spike Ball? Have you ever played it? It's harder than we all thought it would be! It's like volleyball and tennis combined, there's a round net in the center, four players, and you use your hands with a small ball. It's fun though!

OOTD: Blue Stripes
We're on vacation in southern Utah and having so much fun! The weather has been perfect and we are having so much fun! If you're looking for a good family spot with lots to do for kids of all ages, good food, and beautiful sites, this is the spot!
When I was packing, I packed mostly dresses since they're so easy to wear and would be comfortable in the heat. When I had everything packed, I realized most of what I packed was from Pink Blush! They are seriously getting me through this pregnancy- they just have so many maternity options. One thing I knew I had to pack was this blue striped dress. It's so soft and comfortable! I've worn it a few times already and just love it!

OOTD: Cold Shoulder
Happy freaking Thursday everyone!! Have you tried the off the shoulder trend yet? I haven't and I saw this top from Pink Blush, I had to get it! I absolutely love the print! It will also be perfect for now and transition beautifully into fall. Plus, it will totally work postpartum too! Winning!

OOTD + Our Summer Bucket List
Summer is here and it’s the last one as a family of four! We are so excited for our growing family and have started talking about what we want to do this summer and before our little one’s arrival. A few weeks ago, I talked about 5 Things to do before Baby Arrives and one of them was family activities before he arrives.

5 Things To Do Before Baby Arrives
Thank you Dreft purtouch for sponsoring this post, all opinions are of my own and based on my experience.
I’m well over halfway now with my last pregnancy! How did it go by so quickly? My mind is blown with everything I want to get done before our little guy joins the team. I’ve been making to-do lists, crossing my Ts and dotting my Is, and thankfully I think I have everything set in place. Of course, I still have some time before his arrival, but I prefer to be prepared. I’m a planner and it works best for me and my stress level if I can plan and prepare a few steps ahead! Welcoming a new baby into the family can be a huge change for everyone and I have a few tips I want to share that can make that change easier.

OOTD: Seeing Stripes
One of my favorite dresses this pregnancy has been this striped dress from Pink Blush! It is so comfortable and I've worn it several times- running errands, out to lunch with my BFF, family BBQ, etc. The fabric is so soft and it's so easy to wear!
I'm so happy to have found Pink Blush with my last pregnancy, they have the cutest pieces- both maternity and non-maternity. Whenever I need something for everyday or a special occasion, I know I can find what I need on their site. Nearly everything I own from them is perfect for each stage of my pregnancy and postpartum. I love finding quality items that I can wear for years!

Weekend Recap & OOTD: Pink Blush Stripes
Happy Monday! This past weekend was so busy and just flew right by. Friday night the girls and I stayed in and watched the new Tangled Before Ever After on Disney- it's pretty cute. Ellie is so excited for the new tv show to start, I'm glad they did the movie first instead of after a few episodes. Why do they do that? It was so annoying with Elena, show me the movie and back story first!
Then Saturday we were on the go, go, go. We had dance class, a Costco run, lunch with Nana and Papa, then we headed down to Fallbrook for my niece's recital (she killed it! Her team took 1st place!). We were so tired after the day so we ended the night the best way we could- with some In n Out and then a stop for an Oreo shake! We were STUFFED!

OOTD: Baby Blues
Now that the cat's out of the bag I can bust out all my fave bump friendly outfits. I'm definitely showing, my uterus said "third baby? I got you!" and then exploded. Right now I'm at that awkward stage where a lot of maternity clothes are too big and my regular clothes are getting kinda tight. As soon as I knew we were expecting I headed over to Pink Blush because they have the cutest stuff and a lot of styles that work from beginning to end or postpartum.

Maternity Clothes Reviews
One of the things I told myself before I was pregnant, was that my second pregnancy I would buy more clothing. Most of my items are loose and flowy so I didn't have to buy a lot when I was pregnant with Ellie. However, by the end of my pregnancy, I was so sick of the few items that fit me at the end and it was too late to buy new clothes- I just didn't see the point in buying something that would only fit for a month or two. I mentioned in last week's bumpdate about doing a review of what I've bought so far and here it is! I still need to buy a few more items for every day wear and blouses for work, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know!
With my first pregnancy, I only bought full panel bottoms and this is my first pair of side-panel pants. The reviews on the pants were really mixed, but I went ahead and bought my regular size. Old Navy offers free returns/exchanges, so it was worth the “risk”. I absolutely love these pants! They are so cute on, fit great, they don’t stretch out, and wash well (I wash inside out in cold water and hang to dry). For me, they fit true to size, some of the reviews were mixed about that. I love the cropped pant leg, it looks great with flats or heels. My only complaint about the pants is that there’s no pockets, but I can live without that. I like these pants so much, I plan on buying a non-maternity pair when I return to work after my maternity leave.
When I was pregnant with Ellie, my mom bought me a cute pair of colored shorts (check them out here) and knowing that I was going to be pregnant all summer long, I had to buy some denim shorts to get me through. A woman from church game me a pair of Bermuda denim shorts in a dark wash, so I bought this pair to have a light wash in a different length. They are pretty comfy, but the first day I wore them literally all day long (from like 9am til 1am) and the seam on the side kind of bugged me by the end of the night. It just rubbed and rubbed and made my skin itch on that side. I’ve worn them since and it hasn’t bothered me, but I’m also haven’t worn them for 12+ hours. These also fit true to size and they have pockets! I like that these don’t have a full panel to them, they feel more like real shorts and are (mostly) comfortable to wear.
I bought this shirt forever ago and it’s easy to just throw it on. It’s runs large, I did have to size down and even when I’m at the end of my pregnancy and I’m huge, it will still fit nicely. I wash it in cold water and hang to dry, but it still has pilled a bit. The description says it’s a sweater, but it’s really thin and will be ok to wear in the summer heat.
I love me a good white tee and this one is perfect (white is currently sold out, available only in gray). I bought my regular size, it fits great, washes well, and I like the texturing on the shirt to make it a bit different than a regular t-shirt. My only complaint is that the scoop is a bit lower than I prefer.
Patterned Crepe Top
Initially, I bought the non-maternity version of this shirt, but it wouldn’t be long enough to last my whole pregnancy. I then exchanged it for the maternity version and love it. I actually prefer the hem line over the non-maternity version, pregnant or not. I don’t have very many prints in my closet and I fell in love with the florals on this shirt. It’s so easy to wear with my double pearl earrings (LINK TO ITEM) and I always get compliments any time I wear this top. Definitely a top pick for me!
Ok, so I bought these when I was pregnant with Ellie, but I’m still wearing them and wanted to include them in my reviews. These pants are so comfortable, I could sleep in them. Plus, they have back pockets, woohoo! They wear and wash well, I swear by them and tell all my preggo girlfriends to check them out. I would definitely order two sizes to see what fits best, they run a bit different than their regular Rockstar jeans (not necessarily bigger or smaller, just different). Old Navy offers free returns/exchanges so it’s a great shop to test out different sizes you don’t find in store.
Oh my goodness, this shirt is so terrible. I returned it immediately, but with a sad heart because I really wanted this to fit. When looking through their site, the shirt didn’t appeal to me at first, but when you look at it on their model (LINK TO PIC), it’s adorable! I thought it would be the perfect shirt for work. The sizing is so terribly off though. I realize that this is a “boyfriend” fit, but it looked like I was wearing my husband’s shirt. It totally swallowed me up and I don’t think that sizing down would have done any wonders for it. Also, the collar is really slim/small and the wrong dimension for the shirt. Definitely pass on this baby!
Non-Maternity Items
This dress is so comfortable and at a great price point- under $20. It comes in four colors and I just chose a color I didn’t already own for a maxi and went with basic black. I ordered my regular size and I think it’s roomy enough that I’ll be able to wear it til the end of my pregnancy and after. There is a slip underneath that will probably ride up, but the black isn’t see through, so I’m not worried about that. I’m really happy with this dress, it’s very easy to wear and just throw on and go. It looks really cute with a jacket or cardigan too.
I wore this dress for Easter and I love the print. I probably will only be able to wear it another two months, it’s not going to last me until the end, but I’ll definitely be able to wear it afterwards. The fabric is sheer and there’s a slip underneath that will ride up and there’s just not enough stretch or fabric to wear the full 9 months. I also bought this dress in my regular size.
This one obviously will be worn throughout my pregnancy and after. It runs a bit large, I bought my regular size and I’m happy with the fit, but if they’re out of your size, you can definitely size down and still have it fit right. One of my best girlfriends has a blue floral kimono and I’ve always loved it, she looks so adorable in it and when I saw this one online I immediately added to my cart and checked out.
Every Target’s maternity section is so different and I really wish they carried more items overall at their store. They had similar white tanks for maternity, but they are always out of my size and it’s so annoying. Instead, I just bought a regular non-maternity long and lean tank in a size larger and I’m happy with it. I didn’t get a chance to compare their maternity vs non-maternity to see how different they were since they were out of a bunch of sizes. When I was pregnant with Ellie, I lived in these tanks, they’re such a staple in my wardrobe to wear under clothes, paired with cardis, or wear alone.

Lactation Cookies
Breastfeeding is really important to me and I hope to b/f Eleanor for the first year and then start to wean. B/f is not easy though, it's hard work! I drink 2 cups of Mother's Milk a day, take fenugreek, and I made these lactation cookies that I'm going to be sharing with you guys. I've had a hard time increasing my supply and am meeting with a Lactation Consultant this week to help me build it up and ensure that our little Ellie is getting enough. I know there's only so much I can do and if we go to just formula or have to supplement that I didn't fail, it just didn't work out as awesomely as I had envisioned.
Anyways, from all the talk amongst my mommy friends and in my Mommy and Me group (which is so awesome, if you have the opportunity to join one do it! Meeting women with babies close in age to your own and having somewhere to go to vent, celebrate and learn has been an incredible experience to me. Check out your local Healthy Beginnings to see what's available in your area) lactation cookies is one way to help build your supply and they are delicious! My father-in-law couldn't stop eating them, and not he didn't lactate as a result. They're super easy too!
The recipe I used is from Belly Belly:
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup butter or margarine
1 & 1/2 cups brown sugar
4 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons flaxseed meal
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups oats, thick cut if you can get them
1 cup or more chocolate chips/sultanas/almonds/macadamia nuts
2-4 tablespoons of brewers yeast
DIRECTIONS:
Preparation time is around 15 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 356F.
Mix together 2 tablespoons of flaxseed meal and water, set aside for 3-5 minutes.
Cream (beat well) margarine and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, mix well.
Stir flaxseed mixture and add with vanilla to the margarine mix. Beat until blended.
Sift together dry ingredients, except oats and chips. I actually used a freaking sifter and it took forever, next time I'm just going to mix it!
Add to margarine mixture. Stir in oats then chips.
Scoop or drop onto a greased or lined baking tray. Because the dough is a little crumbly, it might be easier if you use a scoop.
Bake for 8-12 minutes. I used a cookie scoop and it made about 30 cookies and I ate the rest of the dough.
On their site they have a ton of ideas for variations (I used white chocolate chips for mine), ways to make it healthier and some more tips/tricks. So be sure to check out their recipe!
I found the flaxseed and brewer's yeast at my local Sprout's shop, but any health food store should work. The brewer's yeast is the magic ingredient that helps your supply and it's a huge freaking tub that I had to buy because I couldn't find anything smaller, but I plan on putting it into my smoothies and other food. I mean why not right? If you know another pregger, I would suggest splitting those ingredients because there's just so much of it! I know I'll be giving mine away or sharing it with whoever is interested!
Hope you're all having a great week, I have an awesome giveaway later this week for you ladies!

My Hospital Bag- What I Actually Used
A few weeks ago I posted what I thought I needed to pack for our hospital stay and had tons of feedback about what to bring and what to skip. It was so helpful and I reviewed your comments several times as I packed. Needless to say, I completely over packed, just as I had expected, but there wasn't anything from home we needed to have (although we only live 2 blocks away and it wouldn't have been a big deal to run back and grab something).
After my c-section, I stayed at the hospital only 3 days. I checked in at Wednesday and left early afternoon Friday. There were a lot of things I packed and didn't use, but that may have been different had I not had a c/s. We had such an awesome experience at our hospital, all of the staff was so friendly and sweet and our room was pretty big and had most of everything we needed. You can see our birth story in pictures in this post.
Here's the list I posted and how it worked out for us:
THE BASICS:
Photo ID and insurance cards: This is given, I just gave my cards to my husband to hold so I could leave my wallet/purse at home.
Large envelope for paperwork: I had already pre-registered so that was taken care of, and at the maternity tour they gave us the paperwork for the social security card/birth certificate that I had finished and put in a folder they provided us. I also brought along my FMLA information to activate my maternity leave claim with work and started my EDD paperwork when I was at the hospital. It was nice to have everything in one place and ready to go.
Pen and paper: I just included this in the folder I used for the above items.
Contact list for baby updates: Didn't bother to do this and didn't need to.
Light reading materials: I didn't bring anything for myself and never found the time to read. All my free time I had I used staring at my little girl and touching her sweet cheeks.
Phone/camera/IPad + Chargers: Absolutely! This was great, also, one reader suggested bringing a power strip which we did, but didn't need. I would still suggest bringing one because it would have been super helpful had our room been set up differently.
Pillow and blanket from home: My husband used the pillows, I was fine with the hospital ones and we never unpacked the blanket from the car.
Snacks and treats: Surprisingly, I didn't eat a thing from our snacks, but my husband had a few things. Mostly the Gatorades. We definitely had too much snacks (I brought Fiber One bars, dried fruit, cheese/crackers, Wheat Thins, pretzels, and candy), but at least it was there should we or our guests need/want anything.
Thank you cards: Didn't bring them and didn't need them. I wrote all my cards once we were home.
Journal: I brought it, but I didn't use it. It's actually staring at me as I type this.
Cash/Change: Our hospital's snack machine actually takes card so we didn't pack change, we already had cash, and with the snacks we brought the change was not needed.
FOR MOMMY:
Going home outfit: I wore some cropped yoga pants and a tank top home, but I also packed a maxi dress as well in case that would have been more comfortable with the incision and such.
Comfortable PJs (is a bathrobe necessary?): I brought yoga shorts, a button down night shirt, and a robe and didn't wear any of it. I was really comfortable in the hospital gown. Maybe if I hadn't had a c/s I would have changed, but who knows.
Nursing gown, bras, tanks, and pads: I packed all of this, but only wore one nursing bra while I was there. The rest could have stayed at home. My milk didn't come in for several days so the nursing pads were completely unneccessary for me.
Cotton granny panties: These were packed too, but the mesh ones the hospital provided were so dang comfortable. I even asked to take a pair home for the recovery!
Flip flops and non-skid cozy socks (I don't think I'll need slippers, I never ever wear them): I brought cozy socks, but the hospital put some on me when I was in pre-op so I never used my own. I only wore the socks that first day and took them off once I was in my room because I was too warm with them. I did wear flip flops to walk to floor the next few days and for my ride home.
Glasses and extra contacts: Brought these, but didn't use them. I always sleep in my contacts, but had these with me in case they were more comfortable or if I lost a contact I'd have a back up pair.
Lip balm, hair ties, lotion: Every list I read had lip balm listed saying how their lips dried up so much, but I didn't use my lip balm once the entire stay and my lips never dried up. I did use my hair tie to sleep with my hair up at night. Each morning I put lotion on my face and my family rubbed my swollen feet with body lotion I had packed as well.
Toiletries (including dry shampoo) and make-up: I used a little bit of make-up the 2nd day, but put some on to go home. My hair never got greasy enough to use the dry shampoo. The makeup remover wipes felt nice as did putting on deodorant each day.
Blow dryer and curling iron (yes, I realize I may never use it): I didn't pack the blow dryer, but did pack the curling iron. Lucky for me my curls lasted my whole stay, but if they hadn't I would have definitely used it at least on the front pieces.
Nursing pillow: We brought our boppy and it was great! I didn't use it personally, how the bed moved and the extra pillows I had made it unnecessary for b/f, but all our guests and my husband used it to hold her. It was really nice having it there for people to use, it made us and them feel more comfortable holding such a little one.
FOR BABY:
Infant car seat: Yes, we obviously used this and you cannot leave without having one installed in your car.
Newborn and 0-3 Months outfit: I ended up bringing NB sizes only and they were the perfect fit for her for her going home outfit. We had two 0-3 month onesies for her to wear, but they were huge on her.
PJs: We had our own pjs for her to wear each night and it was nice having her in them.
Swaddlers: We used the ones the hospital provided every day, but the last day we used one that we brought from home to take some pictures.
Blanket: I thought we'd use a blanket for her as a prop for pictures, but never ended up using it.
Socks and mittens: We had socks and mittens on her 24/7 while we were there. The hospital didn't have them and told us to bring our own on the maternity tour. I'm so glad I listened, because her nails were really long and she had scratched her face before we even made it to our room.
Grooming Kit (mostly for the nail clippers): After so many comments about this, we didn't pack it and didn't need it. We could have filed her nails down while we were there, but the mittens did their job. It would have just been another thing that we packed and didn't use.
THINGS THAT WEREN'T ON MY LIST:
Earbuds: There were a few times my husband watched tv on his IPad and used his earbuds to keep the room quiet.
Power Strip: We didn't use this, but thought it was genius to pack! Our room set up was very convenient, but I would advised everyone to bring one just in case. That way, all your electronic chargers and such are in one place and easy to pack up without forgetting one.
Guest Book: I brought an Alice in Wonderland book and had each guest (and our nurse) write a little note to Ellie in it. It's a sweet keepsake to always have and remember who came to visit us and meet our little bunny.
Ziploc Bags: I packed all of Eleanor's items in Ziploc bags, that way nothing would get lost and it was easy to keep them organized.
There it is! You seriously need hardly anything, the hospital takes really good care of you and your baby. With our next child, I'll listen to everyone and pack the minimum. You just never know until you've done it I guess and even still, I'm a firm believer that it's better to overpack than under. Hope this list helps any mommies-to-be. Feel free to ask me any questions below!

Packing for Delivery- A Cry for Help
Ermahgudnes. I can't believe it's time to start packing for the hospital. I'm having a baby next week. Let me repeat that again, I'M HAVING A BABY NEXT WEEK! WHAT THE HECK DO I NEED?
So thanks to my trusty book Secrets of the Mommyhood (available here), blogs, and Pinterest, here's what I think I need. Now I know everyone woman is different and I'm bound to pack stuff that's just silly and won't get used, but I'd rather overpack and have it available than to underpack. Well, I only live 5 minutes from the hospital so I guess a family member could run and pick it up for me and it wouldn't be the end of the world.
Here's what I'm thinking so far:
THE BASICS:
Photo ID and insurance cards
Large envelope for paperwork
Pen and paper
Contact list for baby updates
Light reading materials
Phone/camera/IPad + Chargers
Pillow and blanket from home
Snacks and treats
Thank you cards
Journal
Cash/Change
FOR MOMMY:
Going home outfit
Comfortable PJs (is a bathrobe necessary?)
Nursing gown, bras, tanks, and pads
Cotton granny panties
Flip flops and non-skid cozy socks (I don't think I'll need slippers, I never ever wear them)
Glasses and extra contacts
Lip balm, hair ties, lotion
Toiletries (including dry shampoo) and make-up
Blow dryer and curling iron (yes, I realize I may never use it)
Nursing pillow
FOR BABY:
Infant car seat
Newborn and 0-3 Months outfit
PJs
Swaddlers
Blanket
Socks and mittens
Grooming Kit (mostly for the nail clippers)
We have a Maternity Tour and Tea on Wednesday so I can see what the hospital room looks like, what they provide, and see if I'd like to bring anything of my own instead of what's provided like towels and what not.
What else should I pack? What can I skip over? What do you wish you had?

Maternity Pics Part 2
Here are more shots from our maternity shoot (see part 1 here). I'm so in love with all of the pictures, I'm having a hard time deciding what to print and display at home. I'll definitely be making an album of all the pictures as a coffee table book. Seriously, I couldn't be happier with all of the pictures and how they turned out. Lover of Love photography really did an amazing job. Dana and Nate are super awesome and we hope to work with them again in the future when our little girl can join in.

And how stinking cute is the packaging our CD came in? I love all the little details and their note to us was the sweetest ever!

I seriously loved our entire experience with this shoot. I can't rave enough about Lovers of Love Photography: their mad photog skills, ideas, professionalism, and manner when taking pics with them was just incredible. I'm so happy we found such a great duo for pictures.Thank you again Dana and Nate!
