Product Review: Savina Nail Polish

Have you ever tried this brand Savina? I've only seen it at Nordstrom Racks, but I really like the polish. This is my third or fourth bottle I've bought and the color is so great! I could have used just one coat, but did two just so it would last longer. This color (as well as past colors I've used- purple, pink, gray) are very pigmented and look the same on as they do in the bottle. It dries fast, and last the usual 4-6 days depending on your activities. Also, it's only $4!!! Total steal!

I really like this gold color too, it has a bit of shimmer to it, so it's pretty fun. Plus it's kind of a jazzy neutral color and will look good year round. Next to my Sally Hansen brand, this is quickly becoming a new favorite. I just wish it was sold at more locations. It's also the perfect shade to copy Vanessa Hudgen's recent mani/pedi.

Best & Worst Dressed at the Emmys 2010

The Emmy's this year did not disappoint! At least no on the red carpet anyways!

Here are my best dressed in no particular order because I couldn't pick just one:

Glittering in gold (yellow for Sofia)- Heather Morris was a s-t-u-n-n-e-r in this gold number! Best outfit I've ever seen her wear! I love all her look, the dress, her glamorous hair, red lipstick and black accessories. I'm def going to remember this for my NYE dress.  Nina Dobrev was beautiful in her Grecian style dress. Her dangly earrings and updo were the perfect choice. Claire Danes was gorgeous in her shimmer number, her make-up perfect and her low key hair also looked amazing. With Sofia Vergara it was love at first sight. First she's wearing my fave color (yellow), the sparkle down the center really accentuated her curves, and her hair made me super jealous. This look is much better than her homecoming look at the SAG awards (see here).

Jewel tones- January Jones looked aaaamazing in this bright blue number. I know she got a lot of slack and critics are still complaining, but I thought the color and creative cut worked for her. The color really complimented her skin, hair and eyes. Although, I think a better hair do would have been a better choice. Emily Deschanel was charming in purple, I love both the style and color of the dress. Kyra Sedgwick's dress was just lovely! I loved how she paired it with loose waves and neutral colored jewelry.

Neutrals- Amber Riley was marvelous in a white Grecian style dress. Her jewelry choices impeccable and matched well with her dress. I loved her updo as well. Great choice for the Emmy's and for her curves. Jennifer Carpenter's dress really accentuated her silhouette and her hair pulled to the opposite corner was gorgeous! Heidi Klum looked stunning in a short number, standing out across all of the long dresses. My favorite part of her look is her shoes! Lea Michele looked gorgeous as always! Her dress and jewelry were stunning, but I'm indifferent about her hair. Looks to me like it should have been more curled or straighter.

Best dressed male goes to Ryan Kwantan for going outside of the black tuxedo box. He looked so hunky with a bit of scruff in his navy blue and black plaid suit and maroon tie. Swoon.

Now on to my worst dressed;

Naya Rivera, what were you thinking? All of this is a NO. Were you trying to emulate devil horns with your hair?

Keri Russel, you do look fab, but far too casual for the Emmy's.
PS are her and Naya wearing the same shoes?

Stephanie Pratt- You look great, but this was a formal affair.

What do you think? Agree disagree? Who were your faves?

Swag from the TCA's

A few weeks ago, I had the chance to attend the TJ Maxx & Save the Children gifting lounge at The Magic Castle for the Teen Choice Awards (see post here). I had such a blast and definitely walked away with some goodies. I promised I'd share them with you, so here they are:
Amethyst Flare jeans- These jeans are so cute and have great back pockets, but they're a tad too short on me so i had to give them away. I'm totally bummed, but plan on trying on a few pairs on my next shopping trip.

A collection of garment accessories by Fashion Forms- They're available at Target and Macy's and include great things like Dress & Lingerie Tape (a must have in my book) and Strap Solutions so you don't have those ugly bra straps sticking out of a tank top.

Cosabella undies- I've heard a lot of great things about this brand and I'm excited to try them out.

Nicole by OPI Gossip Girl Collection- I've been dying for this collection! GG is one of my favorite shows and these colors are perfect shades for the fall/winter. The collection includes Too Rich for You Scandals, Secrets and Sparkle; Party in the Penthouse and Nicole…Spotted! While I was there I had a manicure with the Too Rich for You color (bottom right) and will be reviewing the colors for you soon. The women working their booth were super friendly too and I really enjoyed talking with them.

Scandalous eye shadows- We all know how much I love make up from this post, so I'm pretty stoked to have some new shades. I'm looking forward to the blue and purple colors the most and the creme/bronze color are perfect everyday shades. The people working this booth were also very friendly. The woman working it had talon fingernails (a trend I spotted in this post) and really rocked them well. Maybe the look will grow on me? I'll also be doing a review for these shadows too, ps I really love the name!

Clean Scene by Murad face care line- These products are available at Ulta and Sephora and I also look forward to trying these and will do a review once I've used them for a while.

Erica Annenberg double ring- Available at Nordstrom, I love the simplicity of this ring. All of her jewelry is so pretty and now I'm obsessed with her entire collection. It's also really comfortable to wear.

Gumdrop friendship necklaces- I snagged two of these as birthday gifts for my small cousins. They loved them and couldn't wait to give them to a friend to share.

I'm so grateful for the opportunity to attend the event and for the items I received. I had such a great time and will always remember the event.

Have you ladies bought your TJ Maxx/Save the Children bags yet? I'm sporting mine everyday!

Drew Barrymore is Styling!

With Drew's new movie Going the Distance, a romantic comedy with her on and off boyfriend Justin Long (I really love them together and hope that they "go the distance") she has been making the rounds on the publicity front.

Drew's style is pretty funky to say the least, but I really love her outfits as of late. Her ombre hair? Not so much (in this post most of you ladies agreed), but the style and length of it I do like. Her recent style choices seem to mix both glamour and some of Drew's funk together. Great dresses paired with funky belts or jewelry. Trendy skinny cargos with riding boots mixed with a fringed top and floppy hat. Definitely Drew's style coming through.

This is my personal favorite look. I love everything about it-with the exception of her ombre hair, that she is somehow pulling off pretty well here. Pairing a belt with a fancy schmancy dress is perfect for toning it down and making it a bit more casual. To keep up the red carpet status, Drew wore some statement earrings and some gorgeous pumps.

What are your thoughts? Are you going to see the movie? What's your favorite look?

New Nail Trend for Fall

My dear friends, I saw this on Glamour's website of my girl Vanessa Hudgens, and could have just died!

(All pictures from Glamour)

See how she matched her ring finger nail to her toes?? It's the cutest idea ever!!

Do you always match your toes to your fingers? I don't usually, sometimes I'll do the same color family, hot pink on my toes with light pink on my fingers, but sometimes I'll rock two completely different colors.

I think this is such a fun, cute, and creative way to change up your nails without being too crazy-like the pointed nail trend I still keep seeing around but have yet to jump on the bandwagon for.

As long as your two colors are complimentary, I think is is such a cute idea, I just have to copy Vanessa for myself for my next mani pedi.

Earlier this year I saw a similar trend really quickly on Gossip Girl where Blake Lively's character was in the back of a cab and she had white nails with only the ring finger nail decorated. Because I'm a GG stalker, I searched all over the internet to get a picture of that specific scene, but it was always too blurry and trying to capture it correctly online was just ridiculous. So I never posted about it, but did run out and paint my nails like that ASAP.  I've since done my nails like that on and off, but forget to snap a picture. So, I did a quick example this week for you ladies:

So what do you think? Do you like Vanessa's look? Would you wear this? Do you think it will catch on?

Celebrity Inspiration: Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson is one hardworking mama! Huge career, new baby, dealing with the loss of her loved ones, and an upcoming wedding! Wow, she's a little busy bee! However busy she is, she always looks fab though! Jennifer is very conscious of her curves and dresses to accentuate her body instead of hiding it. Her style is feminine, trendy, chic, and very classy. She's always put together and her hair and make-up is gorgeous!Glamourous is her style and it really shows.

Body Conscious- Jennifer doesn't hide her curves, but instead embraces and showcases them in a classy way. Just the right amount of skin, perfect hemline, and form fitting without being so tight she can hardly breathe. She also chooses cuts that stremline her shape in a complimentary way  (notice that her clothes are care fitted at her waist to accentuate her hourglass figure).

Casual- Miss Hudgens keeps her bottoms tight and her tops loose to play off her figure. She also doesn't forget to layer and uses accessories to dress up even the most casual of looks.

Red Carpet- Dreamgirl is right! Her red carpet choices are so beautiful, young, and fresh. She has found her style and has stuck to it; long, lean, and focuses on her chest, shoulders, and arms.
