Celeb Inspiration: Lauren Conrad

#1 suggested celeb inspiration?? Lauren Conrad! Although I've never watched The Hills, I must say her style is great. She works with her body, works the basics to the max, and always looks feminine, classy, and chic.

Rocking the Neutrals- When in doubt, you can never go wrong with the classics: navy, white, tan, or black. Lauren makes the most of her neutrals with accessories, great shoes, and the newest trends.

Accessories take her from ho-hum to woo-hoo- She must be the queen of belts, I haven't seen anyone wear a belt like this girl! It helps make a dress more casual, defines her waist, and is on trend. When her frock is on the shorter side, Lauren pairs it with a jacket, showcasing her long stems and covering up her upper body. How simple is that? Jacket or a belt plus fab heels and you're ready to go!

Casual- With the summer months here and the heat beginning to soar, what better way to go out then in shorts? Lauren shows us the perfect way to take shorts from day to night. The key to wearing shorts in a dressy way is by choosing shorts that are above mid thigh and just below the widest part of your thigh. Then pairing the shorts with a dressy shirt that's not low cut or too tight- balancing the bare legs. Throw on your heels and you're look is finished. When she wears jeans, proportions play a large part. Lauren often pairs skinny jeans with looser tops,  tailor button-downs, and bulky scarves. Skirts are made easy by pairing basics together. All of these looks are easy to copy and most pieces can be found in your closet.

Do you like Lauren's style? What's your favorite look? I love the belted dresses, how she dresses her skinny jeans, and her rocking neutrals- that first white shirt/navy skirt is calling my name!

Product Review: Sally Hansen

Here is Sally Hansen Insta-Dry nail color in Petal Pusher. It's a great opaque pinky-nude color perfect for any occasion or outfit. I'm thinking this might even be a good wedding day option. This is three coats + a top coat.

I've recently become a huge fan of this product, it's true to the colors, dries fast, and is pretty chip resistant. The other colors I own and love are Lively Lilac, Pass-By Pearl, Lightening, Mango Motion, Uptempo Plum, Jumpin' Jade, and Quick Sand. Sally-Hansen is the best drugstore nail polish I've ever tried and lasts really long whether I've applied it or brought it in for a manicure/pedicure at a salon.

Right now if you buy it at Rite-Aid it comes with a free bottle of clear polish for the same price as just one!

Have you tried this brand yet? What was your experience? What color do you use? What's your favorite drugstore nail polish?

I have a SECRET to Share!!

The BF went on a family vacation last weekend to the High Sierras and visited Yosemite National Park (it's super beautiful there, a future blog will soon ensue).

Here we are taking some pictures in front of a lake with a beautiful backdrop...
I was looking around and thinking "Why is everyone in a straight line taking our pictures?"
Then the BF asked if everyone was ready, so assuming he meant ready for dinner I started to walk away and he grabbed my hand, pulled me back to him, and got down on one knee.
I was seriously, truly, and utterly SHOCKED!! The Fiance (formerly known as the BF) and I have talked plenty about getting married and our future together, but I figured we would be engaged next year after he graduates from school. I had no clue whatsoever that he had been planning this for so long!

Here's his side of the family, and my future in-laws after the proposal:
Here's pictures of the ring, which is exactly what I wanted and totally and completely me (thanks to a wish list one of my bff's had access too- thanks again girl!). I'm SO happy and can't wait to spend the rest of my life with the most wonderful man in the world!
I'm so thankful and completely exhiliarated with all of the excitement! Thank you to everyone for all of your support and love!

We're planning on having a simple, casual wedding early next year (sometime in May- July 2011). Any planning tips? Wedding tips? Marriage tips? Any referrals for the southern CA area? PLEASE comment/email me!
