Love These Flirty Dresses

Here are some pics of the latest best dressed....

Photobucket

Ashley Olsen looks gorgeous in this blue dress! I'm really loving her look here, the color is great, looks good with her skin and hair color, and the detailing on the top is stunning.

Photobucket

I'm glad to see Julianne Hough has stopped dressing in the dark, she's so breathtakingly beautiful she doesn't need a lot to enhance what she has.

Photobucket

I don't watch The Hills, but I really like Kristin's style. It's rare that I don't like what she's wearing. She always keeps it pretty simple; short dress, high heels, minimal jewelry, updo. I may not care for the broad, but her closet is inspiring.

Photobucket

This girl is working the orange! I love it! Great cut, color, and I love how she wore black heels without looking to Halloweeny.

Photobucket

I know Chloe Sevigny is a fashion icon for many, but I often think she just dresses weird most of the time. Here though, she looks fly! So classy with a bit of sass. It reminds me a little bit of Blake Lively's dress here.

Photobucket

Reese Witherspoon always dresses very feminine and classy. I love how this dress has a touch of lace that really ups the ante.

Review: Glee Season 1

Photobucket

Over the weekend, my sister and I were both home sick so we decided to take advantage of our time and watch the first season of Glee. I had wanted to watch it from the beginning, but forgot to Tivo it and then fell 5 episodes in before I realized it wasn't on demand. Boo hoo. So I've been dying for it to come out for rent so I could catch up before it starts again April 13 after a 4 month hiatus.
I must say that I don't know how I lived before Glee. Yes, I know that's over exaggerating, but the show is unlike anything else and amazing. The cast is excellent, there's somebody for everyone. They all look different, dress different, and have different interests, but are still friends. Although there are some beauties and hunks on the show, it's believable that they're high school students.
Another thing that Glee has that separates it from other shows is how upbeat it is. It is quite impossible to feel down when listening to show tunes and up beat songs everyone knows and loves such as "Don't Stop Believing", "Single Ladies", or "Bust A Move". One of the creators, Ryan Murphy, explains why the show is a success: he intended the show to be a form of escapism, explaining: "There's so much on the air right now about people with guns, or sci-fi, or lawyers running around. This is a different genre, there's nothing like it on the air at the networks and cable. Everything's so dark in the world right now, that's why Idol worked. It's pure escapism." (found here). Watching Glee is heart-warming with a little bit of fun drama, but it reminds you of what it's like to be in high school, to still have your whole life ahead of you, and how the journey is to find yourself. Plus, it's really funny as well as entertaining without being super cheesy like 7th Heaven or something.
For fun, here are some fun facts about the show:
  • Chris Colfer, who plays Kurt Hummel, left such an impression on the creators that they developed his character just for him because he didn't fit into any role they had currently written.
  • Mark Salling (Noah "Puck" Puckerman) auditioned with a mohawk for the part to stand out, and it worked! However, he's sick of having it but has to keep it for the show.
  • Kevin McHale (Artie Abrams) is reportedly the best dancer of the cast, but his character is a paraplegic and he doesn't get to show of his moves.
  • Cory Monteith (Finn Hudson) reportedly had never sang before the show, but just went for it anyways. For his audition, he sent in a video of himself playing "drums" with a set of Tupperware and glasses, but he does play in real life as well
  • Amber Riley (Mercedes Jones) was rejected from American Idol, thank goodness though because Glee wouldn't be the same without her character.

PS- The soundtrack is amazing! I've listened to it all week on my drive to and from work!

SAG Recap

Here are my best dressed at the 2010 SAG Awards, there were lots of lovely ladies, but here are my "Ican'tstopstaringtheylooksogorgeous" picks;

PhotobucketPhotobucket
Kate Hudson was gorgeous in this sexy dress! We all know how I love winter white and Kate has been rocking it all season long.

Photobucket
Lea Michele is becoming one of my fashion inspirations so quickly. She has yet to disappoint me on the red carpet. This shade of green is divine on her and her hair is making me green with envy.

Photobucket

Anna Paquin surprised me with this little number and I just adore it! It's short, sexy, and ready to take on spring. Plus, I love her shoes.

Photobucket

Kyra Sedgwick looks heavenly in this white number and I'm really loving her hair and lipstick.

Photobucket

Diane Kruger can do no wrong, she always looks fabulous.

Photobucket

Dianna Aragon is radiant in this white and black number with her bold lipstick. She looks so beautiful here.

Now onto the worst dressed as my friend and reader Kristie suggested.

Photobucket
Meryl Streep, although I love her and think she looks great, she shouldn't have worn this to an awards show. Sorry girl!

Photobucket
Tina Fey, this is so boring- even for you. Although she's never wowed me, I do believe Tina can definitely do better than this.

Photobucket
Sofia Vergara, this is not homecoming 2001 sister. Step up your game.

Photobucket

Nicole Kidman, first I can't believe this is an Oscar de la Renta dress, but I really dislike this on her. It just doesn't seem like her style to me, but would have been better on someone with more of a boho style like Sienna Miller.

Winter white was huge for this awards show, I didn't even show all the fabulous dresses there were! Also, I'm glad that there were more bright colors on the red carpet, it's a sure sign that spring and summer are on their way! Overall, I think every one's hair and makeup looked great. Even the simple looks were stunning. A big trend I'm still seeing is a bold lip color and it's really easy to try. You may be a bit shy, but you're probably just not used to seeing yourself with lip color on. Try it and I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Most Romantic Couple?

My favorite celebrity couple has got to be Heidi & Seal. Not just because they are both gorgeous, but because they're so in love. It just radiates from them. They are always referring to each other as "my husband" and "my wife", and they do it adoringly. Plus, they also renew their vows every year and throw a themed party for their friends to also celebrate with them. This tradition even inspired newlyweds Fergie and Josh Duhamel to do the same this year.
Photobucket

Heidi is the covergirl for the February InStyle and I think she's the perfect woman to do so for the month that celebrates love (even if it is a Hallmark holiday). I read her article last night, and it's really stuck with me. I'm very much in awe of her and Seal's love and it really inspired me to show my love for my lover even more.
Photobucket
Here are some quotes from the article:

"I don't flirt. Even if you don't touch someone or do anything to them, it's disrespectful to your husband. I would never do that. I'm very devoted and he's the same."

What do you think about this? My bf and I are natural flirts, but I don't think either of us ever cross the line, but her point of view made think about it. Is it disrespectful? Would our relationship change if we turned that flirtiness to only each other? We our connection be deeper because we kept focused on only each other?
Photobucket

"Seal still says beautiful things to me after all these years. I couldn't be more excited when he come home."

Photobucket

Here's her most romantic song: "Wedding Day" which Seal wrote for her on their, you guessed it, wedding day.

Photobucket

Her most romantic room in the house: "Whichever one Seal is in."

Photobucket

The following romantic gift, gesture, and letter also all include her "husband".

Photobucket

If all of this wasn't cute enough, they always dress as a themed couple for Halloween each year.

Photobucket

Who is your favorite couple, celebrity or not? Why are they your favorite?

What have you learned from other couples that you do in your current relationships?

The few things I've learned from relationships I admire is to always respect the other person and treat them that way, that when you're fighting to remember you're on the same team, and to always tell the other person how you feel and show it to them without worrying about your pride.

Baby It's Cold Outside...

but these Cristiano Ronaldo Armani ads are keeping me quite toasty!

Alice in Wonderland Inspiration

With Alice in Wonderland coming out in just a few weeks, a couple of beauty lines have done themed collections to celebrate.

Photobucket
Photobucket
OPI has a collection of four polishes, available individually or in a package of the mini-size. It's a limited edition and the colors are Thanks So Muchness!, Mad as a Hatter, Absolutley Alice, and Off With Her Red!. I'm acutely obsessed with the Alice character and I can't wait to get my hands on them! I haven't been able to find them at my local beauty store and will have to start calling around for the availability. All Lacquered Up has a great review on them as well I suggest checking out.

Urban Decay is also doing a limited edition eye shadow book. It has a pop-up Alice scene on the top, and a drawer of 16 eye shadows with themed names, primer, and 2 eye pencils. I. Must. Have. This.
Eye shadow and Alice in one? Helllllllo, I'm so there!
