Product Review: Maybelline Eye Shadow Review

I went to Target with my BFF S (can anyone ever go there without spending at least $50??) for some post holiday shopping when I nearly suffered from whiplash when I saw these little beauties:

They're Maybelline's Color Plush Silk Eyeshadow, available in 12 different color quads, from Maybelline's Eye Studio collection (that also includes mascara, eyeliners, and marbleized eye shadows as well). I had to buy one right away, after much debate with the BFF I chose the gold palette one above.

I've worn it now several times and I really like it. They blend well and are really shimmery- which I love, but you can't see it in the above pictures. It's great for the day and for work, but I'm not sure if I'd wear it going out at night because the pigment is kind of sheer for my taste (side note: I wear pretty heavy eyeshadow when I go out), but maybe it is just this particular quad because they're neutral. I would still definitely recommend it to anyone, and for $8 it's a steal. The colors and look reminded me of MAC's holiday pigments.

Another reason why I like eyeshadow quads so much is because they're idiot proof. The colors are already picked for you, so you know they go well together and will blend easily. Plus, because they're all together it's easier to keep in your makeup bag instead of toting four separate eye shadows.

Have any of you tried these yet? What's your favorite drugstore brand of eye shadows?

I love Maybelline's eyeshadow too! I use their quads, but it's the smoky eyes one, I think. Now I can't remember the type, but I have one in brown and one in green. Love them!
