The gorgeous newlywed Kristin from Busy Bee tagged me in a super fun getting to know you post. Awesome right? I love getting to know other bloggers, it's so much fun and such a great way to connect and find even more things we have in common.

11 Random Facts 
1. My Husband and I are BOTH left-handed
2. My Husband and I both have O- blood
(what are the odds of both of those?)
3. I still have my wisdom teeth
4. I can count to 10 in Mandarin Chinese thanks to my 6th grade teacher
5. I almost always have my nails polished
6. I can't whistle, but practice all the time. I can only make one sound, at one pitch so I don't count that as actually whistling.
7. I don't carry my makeup with me for touch-ups, but I do carry about 15+ lipglosses in my purse
8. I'm obsessed with Pinterest, and actually try to apply the things I pin in real life.
9. I tease my hair every single day
10. I'm super near-sighted AND have terrible Astigmatism, I'm waiting to qualify to have lasik surgey.
11. I've never ordered wine at a restaurant or bar.

1. What's your middle name? Any special meaning behind it?

Lynn, my Mother wanted me to have the same initials as my Father since I’m their first born and they liked the name so they gave it to me. It’s MUCH better than what my Dad wanted.

2. If you could have one special talent {that you don't currently have} what would it be?

Singing, duh. I can’t sing to save my life (or hum for that matter). I’ve ALWAYS wished I could at least carry a tune, if not belt out songs like Mariah Carey.

3. Where is your dream vacation? {Don't cheat...somewhere you've never been!}

I’m not really sure where it would be because I want to travel everywhere for different reasons, but a dream vacation would include a beach, great food and drinks, unlimited spending money, good music, and several cities/sites.

4. If you had to get rid of ALL of your makeup except for one item...what would you keep?

Mascara! My eyes are my best feature and I love making them stand out. See what I’m currently using for my lashes here.

5. Guilty Pleasure? {Movie, Food, TV Show, Song?}

My guilty pleasure would have to be teenage TV shows such as Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, The Vampire Diaries, and other CW shows. The plots can be so lame, but I can’t stop watching them! I love the fashion and the plot twists!!

6. If you could banish one celebrity to an island where they would never be heard from again, who would it be?

The ENTIRE Kardashian Klan. I’m so sick of them.

7. Who is your favorite 'Friends' character?

Ross. No,Chandler. Ross. Ok- Chandler, he’s just so hilarious to me.

8. Do you have a lucky number? What is it?

I like the odd numbers such as 5, 7, and 9, but not one sticks out to me.

9. If you could meet one blogger in real life, who would it be?

Ummm, all of my blog besties! I don’t think I could meet just one, it would HAVE to be a group party! Can we have a blog meet up ladies??

10. Backstreet Boys or NSYNC?

I loved them both and saw both of them in concert with my sister and Dad, but I’m an NSYNC girl at heart! JT all the way baby.

11. What's your greatest fear or phobia?

Something going wrong with my family, such as an early death, injury or illness.

10 Things About Me:


1. I can count to 10 in Mandarin Chinese thanks to a boring (and stinky) 6th grade teacher. Do you remember him Jessica??? Mr Grimley, was that his name? Ugh.
2. I'm double jointed and can turn both of my hands completely around, 360 degrees, so that my elbows bend inward.
3. The two things that I hate doing and really wish I could find an alternative to is getting gas and going to the bank. It's so annoying! I wish I could somehow do it online.
4. I love camping! I grew up camping in Utah with a Dad who would KILL on Survivor as a contestant and would drive us to places where if we were to die no one would ever find our bodies because we were in the middle of NOWHERE. Also, our bathrooms would consist of some TP and a shovel. Now when I camp with my fiance's family, they have an RV and we camp at places that have showers. SHOWERS!! It's like the 4 star hotel of camping. I was shocked at first, but I have since recovered and have become well adjusted to it.
5. I can spend an entire day at make-up and book stores. What can I say, they have my heart.
6. If you haven't caught on by now with pictures of my family, I'm half Hispanic and half Swedish. I speak a little bit of Spanish, but only from my high school days, otherwise only my Grandparents know Spanish. Since my Fiance has American Indian ancestry we always laugh that all of our children will be dark skinned and not look like us.
7. In reference to #6 above, I used to be teased about being adopted (although I'm not) because my sister and mother have dark skin and hair and I was a little white blonde girl. I actually got into a few brawls on the playground because of it. Not that there is anything wrong with being adopted whatsoever, but whether you are or aren't it's one thing you don't want to be teased about.
8. I love spicy food! At home we eat tons of food really hot and always have, but since my Mom lost her taste a few years ago, she makes things extra spicy and I love it! I used to ask the cooks at my old restaurant to make my tacos hot enough to make me cry after several attempts they finally did it and couldn't believe that their little guera (sounds like wet-a= white girl in Spanish slang) could eat food so hot, but it's the best!
9. At all times I carry sinus medication with me because my allergies are so bad. It makes me feel dorky, but I'd rather enjoy my time then spend it hazey-eyed and sneezing! I also carry Coritzone cream with me on vacation for those pesky hives and rashes that randomly come on.
10. I have to wash my hands before going to sleep. If not, all I can think about is how dirty they feel/must be and how I'm going to get my face all gross from touching it through the night. However, not showering or washing my face before bedtime has no affect on me whatsoever. Go figure.

In order to accept this award, I must share where I think I'll be in 10 years.

In ten years I'll be 36 (holy cow!), and I hope that I'm living in southern CA and have bought a home with a large back yard and patio so we can play and eat dinner outside, being ridiculously happy with my Fiance- we'll be married by then for 9 years, have all of my 4 children that I want and plan/hope on having, speaking Spanish fluently, sharing an insurance office with my husband, traveling to all of the National Parks, and enjoying all that life has to offer.

Thank you again to all these ladies, the awards and your comments mean so much to me! It's so thrilling to know that people actually read my blog and have something to say about it.

This award is a "get to know you" award and the person who has been chosen to receive it must post ten facts about them and then pass the award along to ten other blogs.

Frances from It's Sew My Style gave me this award this week and I just want to thank her so much! It was very sweet of you to think of me and I have really enjoyed reading your blog, I'm so happy to have found it! ISMS has tons of great ideas on how to shop your closet, wear the latest trends, and find great deals on hot items. I suggest everyone go check it out!

Now, for the 10 facts about myself...

1. I'm obsessed with nail polish- I probably have over 100 polishes and keep adding to it! They're so cheap, I never mind buying a new one.

2. I don't like my food to touch- When I was younger my parents/grandparents had to buy me plastic cafeteria trays so I would eat my food. Now, I'm a lot better but sometimes still have the borders of my food left behind on my plate. I know it all goes to the same place, but blame it on OCD.

3. Two things I could never have enough of are underwear and pjs- I love them!

4. If I had to choose one thing to wear everyday it would be dark jeans, a white tee, and flip flops- It's comfortable and always in style.

5. I'm ALWAYS on time (early really)- I don't even need to set my alarm, I'll always wake up before it goes off regardless of what time it's set for.

6. I'm obsessed with Alice in Wonderland- The story, the visuals, Alice's outfit, oh and the name is a family one so I'm sure if I have a little girl she'll get it as a middle name.

7. My favorite playlist on my IPod would have to be my musical one- It's filled with soundtracks from Moulin Rouge, Glee, Legally Blonde the Musical, Funny Girl, and My Fair Lady to name a few. It really helps to listen to the playlist while I'm in traffic, because it's impossible to be angry when you're singing "Don't Rain on my Parade".

8. The only sport I care about and love to watch is basketball- I'm a Jazz fan and I grew up watching them. It's also the only sport I really understand fully and know the most players of.

9. I eat candy everyday- Literally have it with me at all times, in my purse, in my desk, and hoarded away in my nightstand at home. My friends make fun of me because I'll be out at a bar and then bust out a Milky Way randomly.

10. My favorite soda is Sprite- It's delicious and always refreshing. I love it best when it's from a fountain because all the carbonation is so good (but not good for me sadly).

Beautiful Blogger Award

Jen from The Look 4 Less nominated me for this Beautiful Blogger award, how fun! Thanks again love! If you're not already a follower, I suggest you hightail it to her blog right after you finish reading my post! She finds looks that are either inspired by or identical look alikes to high-end fashion for a great deal and she has absolutely the best taste.
OK, so I need to share 7 random facts about myself and nominate 7 more bloggers for the award.
1. I'm a sushi fiend.

The best places are the hole in the walls I think. I love any roll with eel, avocado and spicy tuna.

2. I love action and romance movies.

If only they could combine them in a non-cheesy way. My favorites would have to be The Departed, Green Street Hooligans, and Stardust - a total must see that somehow got overlooked, and anything with Jason Statham because I just love looking at him.


3. My favorite parts of vacations are the pool days

I look forward to the pool the most on these trips! It's always where the most memories are made and some of the best pictures are taken. My favorite pool is the one at the Hard Rock in Vegas, it's giant and gorgeous!

4. I love to read!

I enjoy everything from chick lit, murder mystery, to period pieces. My favorite books are: To Kill A Mockingbird, The Princess Bride, Little Women, and The Other Boleyn Girl. If you can't tell, I often love to read books and watch the movies (The Princess Bride book is identical to the movie and has some great things that were also left out, a definite must read).
5. I'm a bar snob.
Get it? It's a piano shaped bar? Bahahaha

Really, just the opposite. I love dive bars! They are so much fun and you can always dress however you want, plus the drinks are always a great price. My favorite are ones with entertainment, whether it's a piano bar (have you gone to one? They're the best! They can play anything, I swear!), dancing, or tables for flip-cup or beer pong.
6. If I had three wishes, one would be to sing.

I can't sing at all, whatsoever, not even the ability to hum. I would love to be able to sing though, it would be a dream (and miracle) if I just woke up one day with Mariah Carey's voice.
7. My left pinky finger doesn't touch my hand.

If only my cast looked as stylish as Beyonce's glove


In the 6th grade I broke it playing four square (of all things) and it's never been the same since. It drives me nuts! When I put all of my fingers straight up, it's hanging out all by its lonesome off to the side. If I could re-brake it and have it set normally, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
