Good morning everyone, hope you all are having a fantastic week so far! Last week, my schedule changed at work and now I get up at the crack of dawn (4:30am!!) so I’m struggling to adjust, but I love getting off early and having most of the afternoon at my disposal. I have some new readers to le blog (welcome!) and I want to get to know you all better. Not just the newbies, but everyone. 

Blogging is such a blast and is a full-time hobby of mine. It’s so exciting knowing that people have an interest in what you’re posting about and share the same interests I have. Everyone’s comment mean so much to me and I love interacting with everyone. What movie(s) do you always watch when they're on tv? The Princess Bride, Pretty Woman, any of the Harry Potters or Indiana Jones movies, Bride Wars
What's your favorite feature on LLP? Well, my favorite ones to write are the ones a bit more personal, product reviews, OOTD, and recent purchases. I love seeing what other people are wearing/using so I like to do posts that share the same qualities. I can’t tell you how many products I’ve bought or avoided thanks to some lovely blogging beauties.  

What’s one thing you have plenty of, but can’t stop buying? My guilty pleasures are lip products, nail polish, and stationary. I have enough to last a lifetime, but always leave with one of these bitties with every Target run.

"How I Make That Money Honey" Link-Up

I graduated college from Cal Poly Pomona in 2007 with my degree in Business Marketing and took the summer off to travel and have a good time before finding a big kid job. I knew it would be my last care-free summer and I wanted to do it right. I worked part time at Outback Steakhouse (where I met my husband at this time and chased him all summer, you can read about it here), went to Vegas several times (it's only a 3hr drive from where I live), went to the river, spent a week in Mexico, etc. It was one of  the most fun summers of my life. I'm so happy I took that time off before entering the real world.

My first 9-5 job was for a large insurance company. I sold and serviced all Fire & Auto policies, dabbled in the banking products, and took care of all the claims that came in. It was a small office, less than 5 people working for the agent and I worked there for four years. In time, I outgrew it and wanted to work for a larger company with more interaction, room for growth, and a work place that challenged me more.

Last fall, I started with the company I work for now, one of the country's largest banks. We serve customers in over 150 countries and have operations in over 40 countries. Currently, I work at one of the corporate sites, and do not work with our clients on a face to face basis but over the phone. My responsibilities outside of customer service have included training a new incoming class and being a part of our employee satisfaction team. We think of all the fun games, themed days, and food giveaways for days such as "National Waffle Day", which we may or may not make up ourselves sometimes. The site has several departments, each with their own hours of operation and dress code. Lucky for me, my department went from business dress to business casual. I switch it up everyday, but try to always dress well. I mostly wear jeans and dress tops, but I switch it up.

This is honestly the first job that I ever have truly enjoyed. I love the company for what they stand for, both for our customers and the employees as well as for our communities. My work really cares a lot about employee satisfaction, growth, opportunity, and recognition. There's always fun events at the office, themed days, and friendly competition. It's the first time in my life that a job has made me pause and really think about my future within a company and where I want to go and how to get there.

Paint Me Pretty

You are all aware of my nail polish obsession right? Oh, you're not? Did you miss this post where I had to confess my beauty sins? Oh and that's nothing, my collection has since grown. Oy vey. I paint my nails on a weekly basis, it's just a little way to have some fun, play with color, and a cheap and quick way to change my look. I'm still in love with the accent fingernail(s) as well.

These four colors have been my go-to this season. Especially the Lacey Lilac, I get a lot of comments about it on Instagram (Kristen_Lawler) too. It's hands-down my favorite lilac color ever, even more so than Essie Lilacism.

Nordstrom Sale Wishlist

Fashionistas everywhere look forward to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, in college, I used to wake up at midnight, order my goodies and then go to the store first thing. I was nuts. I checked out their site this weekend and they have some great pieces for fall that I think will be some great staples throughout the season. Some of the items I'd be able to rock now with the warmer weather even.  I hope to pick up everything, but we'll see.

My make-up has been seriously low-key this summer. I mean, I still put on my “face”, but I’ve been using less products than in the winter. I keep my face pretty bare, I use powder, bronzer, blush, mascara, and lipstick. Pretty simple. Some days I don’t even wear mascara, and it feels so great when you can rub your eyes. LOL.

Summer Netflix Queue

Now that summer is upon us, TV watching has kind of nose-dived, all I have now is Pretty Little Liars and True Blood. Thank goodness for Netflix! Here’s some shows I’ve been obsessed with and watch through the summer before the fall line-up starts. Some of these shows series are showcased during the summer, but you can get caught up through Netflix, which is how I found them all.

Hands down, the most riveting TV show I’ve ever seen. Each season is one big case and always have great actors as their clients. Glenn Close is a shark, I love her character. Rose Byrne’s clothing and hair are fantastic too. The first & third season have been my favorites so far.I love the way it's filmed as well, with flash forwards which totally could lead anywhere and you never know the whole story til the very last episode.

Many people suggested this to me and I finally watched it and couldn’t stop! I love period pieces like these that are full of lust, rivalry, class hierarchy and their struggles. It’s so fascinating and I love all of the family & their staff’s story lines.

I don’t know how I never watched this show before, but all I have for you is two words: Matt Bomer. Done. Watch it!

Erin from Everything According to Erin has been blogging about this show since its premiere. I don’t know why I waited so long to start the show, but I was hooked after the first episode. Each episode you have more suspects and evidence and so many stories intertwine, it’s nuts!
