22 Weeks 6 Days

How far along? 23 weeks today, this post is reviewing week 22.

Total weight gain: 4.5lbs (according to my Dr appt last week). I'm thinking maybe another .5lb possibly too, but not positive.

Stretch marks?: Nothing yet! I'm still using Burt's Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter that Chelsea of Haute Child in the City suggested to me in a previous post. No signs of stretch marks yet, I keep a look out.

Maternity clothes: The maternity pants I ordered last week came in! I LOVE them and for $22 they're a total steal. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the full panel, but they're really comfy. I thought the semi-panel would possibly put too much pressure on my belly and be uncomfortable. These jeans fit perfect, if you're in between sizes, go up in size. They fit my legs perfectly and still have room in the waist/hips for down the road. Plus, they make my butt look phenomenal. I also picked up this boyfriend cardi which I also love for both now and after baby, it's in the above pic too.

Belly Button in or out?: In, but getting more shallow each week. The top part is beginning to ridge out a bit, but my doctor said I have plenty of time before it actually pops out.

Sleep: I've started sleeping with a pillow between my legs and that's made a big difference. I still wake up during the night, but I'm not up for as long as I was last week. I've had some weird dreams too, nothing ridiculous, but weird nonetheless.

Best moment this week: I had my review at work and my bonus is larger than what I was expecting so that just means more for baby and nursery! I started looking at cribs, but have no idea what to look for. So far I know that I want a unisex white crib (I plan on using it for future babies) that has at least a toddler rail with it. Any suggestions for cribs?

Worst moment this week: Nothing, this week has been great!

Have you told family and friends: Yes!

Miss Anything? Eating seafood more often. I'm sticking with the guidelines for each week, but I love seafood so it's hard not to eat it several times a week.

Movement: Lots! This week was the first that people other than my husband felt her move and kick. It's so amazing, I love feeling her every day.

Food cravings: My cravings have really subsided, I still want a lot of fruit juice. At The Lazy Dog cafe I had the Pomegranate Punch (OJ, pomegranate, and pineapple juice) and it was amazing! I'll definitely have to make this at home. I've also bought lots of lemonade. Still, these are all things I like anyways and my cravings for them aren't as much as they were a few weeks ago.

Anything making you queasy or sick: No and I've been so lucky.

Have you started to show yet: Absolutely. This belly is getting quite round, most people think I'm having a boy because I'm just going out and you can't tell I'm pregnant from behind (or so they say).

Gender: Girl all the way!

The blanket Danielle of Sweet Nothings sent to me
For baby girl, I picked up a few Babylit books (available here)
I love the colors, artwork, simplicity of them.

My sweet friend, Danielle sent me the above blanket, which is two sided, and is the softest blanket ever. Thank you again Danielle, I know Baby L is just going to adore it! It was so sweet and thoughtful of you to send it!

Symptoms: I've had a few leg cramps/charlie horses in the morning when I stretch, but they go away quickly.

Happy or Moody most of the time:
Deliriously happy!

Looking forward to: Putting together the nursery. We've started looking at cribs and dressers and next month we'll be making the big purchases. The room still has boxes in it from the move, but I plan on having it cleared out by mid-February.

Secrets of the Mommyhood
(by Heather Alexander available here)

What I'm reading: I didn't finish, but read lots of The Baby Book and really enjoyed it. I had to return it to the library, but plan on buying my own so I can refer back to it. It really focuses on your relationship with your baby, trusting your intuition, and finding what works best for you and your family. Nothing crazy like you need to breastfed your baby until their in school and then go to their lunch time to feed them. Plus, it talks about things that I believe most parents do instinctively, it was just never called "attachment parenting" before. I highly suggest all parents to check it out. Although, no matter what you hear/read you'll of course do what works best for you and adapt it as things change. I received Secrets of the Mommyhood from a reader and I'm so excited to check it out. I skimmed through it and really like it so far. I'll give an update once I've finished it!

So again, any advice for cribs or other nursery items? I want to do all my research now so I'm ready to buy next month!

I need to get that book!! I feel like I have read so many pregnancy books and now I need to start reading parenting/baby books.
Our nursery furniture is by Baby's Dream and it is the Legendary collection. We just got it delivered 2 weeks ago and absolutely LOVE it. Very sturdy, big and converts to a toddler bed, then a queen bed eventually. And it is white :)

omg, i am SO behind on reading blogs!!! you are looking absolutely adorable! i knew you'd be a fashionable little preggo...very unlike myself. :) We got the Canton 4-in-1 convertible crib (by delta) and absolutely LOVE it! I don't think it comes in white though. :( But, it is one that K will have for years to come which is so nice (makes spending all that money a little more manageable.)

The absolute best thing we bought for our nursery was a comfortable glider. So comfortable for nursing and essential for rocking back to sleep in the middle of the night.

Hi friend, congrats on the new addition to your growing family. Just wanted to give you some crib advice. Like you I too thought a convertible crib would be the best thing to get. It turns out its not as convenient as it sounds. I bought one that could be used as a toddler bed and a larger bed at some point. I saved all the paper work and info so I could buy the additional parts at a later time. Well when the time came, I could not find the additional parts anywhere. Even Babies R Us where I purchased the crib didn't have them and just referred me to the website which no longer made the type of crib I purchased.. I found one toddler rail but it had a lot of bad reviews so I passed. Anyhow, I ended up just buying a toddler bed and keeping the crib for baby #2. Toddler beds are also very inexpensive, I bought mine for $100.00 so it didn't break the bank. Hope this helps...lots of love. Leighann
