Recent Purchases

Hello lovelies!! So this post is just a new idea I wanted to try, please let me know if you like it or not. I thought I could do some posts on recent items I've purchased. At first, I didn't really care for this idea because I felt like it was bragging, but I do enjoy other bloggers' posts about what they buy to know what's out there, if it's a good deal, and if it's worth the purchase. Sometimes a review post isn't enough! PLEASE feel free to give me your honest feedback- Yay! Do more of these posts! or Nay! You're a narcissist braggart!

Here we go! Here are some items that I've purchased these past few weeks, some of which I will be reviewing.

Steve Madden 'Intyce' Boot from here

I've been going back and forth about these boots for years and have bought knock-offs from Target which were great, but have been worn to the ground and getting all ugly. Sidenote, Kohl's (see here) has a really similar pair, so I checked them out but are pretty cheap IRL, even the Fiance noticed that they weren't good quality. They crinkled around the ankle and made a funny sound. I was pretty bummed about it. I just love the way the original SM 'Intyce' boots look so I just bit the bullet and bought them. I love them and they're very comfortable. They also hit at a perfect place below the knee, super cute with jeans or dresses. Definitely worth the money!

Fire Lace Overlay Dress from here.

I bought this dress for our engagment photos because it reminded me of a vintage wedding dress- hello foreshadowing! Plus, it has sleeves so it's perfect for work. I can't wait to wear this dress, it will look so cute with tights, belts, jewelry and boots! I plan on doing a post about the versatility of the dress soon.
MAC Powder Blush in Pink Swoon (see my review from this week here) from here

Perfect pink shade of blush!

MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study from here

I've heard this and that about paint pots so I again just bit the bullet(again) and bought myself one to try out. A review will be on it's way!

Victoria Secret Cotton & Cashmere sweater on sale here

This sweater in the above color, but now I wish I bought it in a darker color like Charcoal (my first choice) or Black. The sweater is really thin and not as cozy as it looks. I haven't worn it yet and am still deciding if I should return it.

ESSIE Snow Princess Gift Set includes one mini each of Blanc, Ballet Slippers, Guchi Muchi Puchi and Pink Glove

I bought it at Ulta with a $5 coupon, but I was unable to find the item online, but did find it here. I'm new to the ESSIE brand and first fell in love with their Pink Parka (see my review here) and wore it all summer long. I thought this cube had a lot of great soft hues and may have a perfect color for my BIG day. A review will definitely be on it's way, I want your opinions on the colors and if they make the cut for the wedding.

Whew. Done. What do you think? Do you own any of these items? Do you like them? Is there anything I should have bought in place of something?

I love the lace overlay dress, I can't wait to see how you wear it! Also, I purchased the boots from Kohl's that you mentioned and I thought that they look really good in person. I bought them and I've been wearing them almost every day since then and received a bunch of compliments. Maybe the pair you saw were from a bad "batch"? Who knows.

Thanks Katie!

Maybe the boots at Kohl's were a bad batch. The area around the ankles was really loose and made a plasticy noise. I'm glad the ones you found worked out! They were so cute I was pretty bummed they didn't work out.

I think these post will be a great idea! For instance, I would have never known about the MAC blush (I don't wear a lot of MAC products) but after reading your posts and seeing the product on you I am planning on purchasing it.

i obviously love these posts since i do them ALL THE TIME. am i even MORE arrogant because the thought of these being "bragging posts" never crossed my mind?! oops! oh well. it's my blog and i'll brag if i want to. haha.

i love posts like this b/c like you said, you find out where people get stuff and where sales are that i wouldn't know about otherwise.

keep 'em coming! i am getting excited about your wedding dress. i LOVE lace even though mine had ZERO :)

i felt the same way about the kohl's boots. i just didn't like them in person. have a great day!

You will love the boots. I got them a couple months ago and I am so happy with them. Ballet slippers is a beautiful color. But try Essie's madamoiselle with a coat of waltz on top. Its the perfect combo. I owned a day spa for a bit and did nails and skincare. Mixing colors was always fun and this was the one most requested.

oh....and pink swoon and bare study will be two of your new staples!

no this is great bc sometimes people want to know where to get stuff! and duh, the holidays are coming..who doesnt want to know where to get a 5.00 essie set.

blogging in general is about being a narcissist..oh well lol!!

Ashley- Thank you! Yes, Pink Swoon is definitely worth the purchase! I seriously love it and it was a great way for me to change my usual make-up routine.

Reed- LOL You crack me up!! You are definitely not bragging and I've never felt that way reading your posts! I have read blogs though before where they don't post about anything else but what they've bought and they've even shown actual cash. cash! so tacky.

I just picked up my wedding dress this past Saturday and I love it! I'm so excited. It has a lot of lace, but it's not everywhere. It's ivory though like the dress I bought above though.

Sugar- Thank you so much for the hint! I'm definitely going to check that color combo out!! I LOVE Pink Swoon and I've worn Bare Study everyday since I've owned it and like it so far.

Danielle- Thanks for the support! You make a great point! Oh and the Essie set is originally $15, but I had a $5 coupon at Ulta and got the set for $10 which is a pretty good price still.

Thank you ladies for all of your feedback!! XOXO

Kristen-

I would pay to see the look on your face when you go to 6pm.com. You'll be like a kid at Christmas! Don't blame me though for any extra spending I may have caused!!
