Bumpdate Week 20

 19 Weeks 6 Days

How far along?  20 weeks today! Can you believe I'm halfway already! These past 20 weeks have flown by, I feel like we were just waiting for that positive test results. These next 20 weeks (give or take of course) I'm sure are going to go by even faster!

 
Total weight gain: I have a Dr appointment at the end of the month, so I'll know my true weight gain for then. I weighed myself at my in-laws this weekend and I'm up +2.5lbs so I'm happy about that.

Maternity clothes: Not yet, anything I've bought has been pregnancy and post pregnancy friendly so far. Just sizing up in tops and the KLR jeggings I bought fit below the bump, but I haven't bought anything else yet. My sister-in-law gave me some cute stuff that I hope fits, we'll see! She has the shape of a Barbie, so I'm not holding my breath, only crossing my fingers.

Belly Button in or out?: Still in, but it's getting more shallow each week.

Sleep: Still sleeping well, but I wake up really early, before my alarm goes off. I always have, but I feel like now that I'm pregnant it's worse. I've also had the craziest dreams! Some pretty racy ones too ;)

Best moment this week: Finding out we're having a little baby girl! I'm so thrilled. Of course I'd be happy either way, but I'm elated about a girl. Shopping for a girl is so.much.fun.

Also, when I was at the store buying supplies for the gender reveal, the sweetest girl was asking me about the pregnancy and how far along I was. When I told her, she replied "Are you serious? How have you stayed so skinny??" I wanted to kiss the woman! Bless her heart.

Worst moment this week: Can this say most awkward moment? Our ultrasound lady this week was a dud (of which, I'm totally going to call in about her) and she asked me if I ever had a belly button ring (which I haven't) because I have scar tissue by my belly button. Isn't that weird? I've never had a piercing or injury there, so I have no clue why I would have scar tissue. I guess it would just be from birth? No idea.

Have you told family and friends: Yes and the gender reveal was this past week! All secrets are out of the bag. Well, except the name. We've told people, but my husband and I haven't decided if we want to put it on social media before the baby is born.

Miss Anything? Nothing this week. The sushi/soft cheese cravings have subsided for the time being. Shopping for non-bump clothes. There's so many cute things that isn't bump friendly. I found the cutest dress that would be perfect for maternity pics and a shower, but by the time those events get here, the dress will be short enough to show everyone where the baby is coming from. 

Movement: It's been determined that all the flutters I've felt the past few weeks are definitely baby's. I love feeling them, it makes me giddy each time. We went to a work event on Tuesday for my husband's work and they had a band there. The baby was moving with the music, but when they played Michael Jackson the baby went nuts! I think we'll have a little dancer on our hands.

Food cravings: Carbonation! I've been dying for a Sprite, so I had some this past weekend. My husband and I haven't bought soda in forever, but gave in this past week.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope, and I'm so thankful this pregnancy has been so easy.

Have you started to show yet: Um, yes. I think I'm almost to the point that complete strangers will start asking to touch the bump.

Gender: Team pink baby!

Symptoms: Peeing 24/7. I've been super thirsty, so that makes sense, but even on the days I'm not drinking as much I still have to go all the time. Are you ready to be grossed out? Are you sure? Ok. Constipation. First time throughout this whole pregnancy.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Thrilled and excited 24/7!

Looking forward to: Registering and shopping for the baby girl. When I say registering, I mean toting my sister-in-law around and picking out the colors. If you've followed me since the wedding planning, you'll remember that I hated registering. After 45 minutes, I'd find a seat and tell the hubs to register for whatever he pleased. So my SIL, who is an awesome mommy of two, will register for me. Of course, I'll have input, but who better to help, than someone who knows what works, what doesn't, what's a waste of money, is just about preference, etc?

I love these polka dot pajamas my sister got me for Christmas. I know everyone has them, but they're so cute and comfy and I've always wanted a pair of "old man" pjs. 

From Kiki La'Rue I ordered an off white piko top (here) and a Lenore scarf in Dark Teal (here). I'm so excited to wear them this week! Both are the softest fabric, I know they'll get a lot of use! 

My fruit cravings have not curved whatsoever. All I want is Pinkberry and smoothies now. 

After a long day of work, hubs picked me up the perfect treat! 

Becka is so funny. I hate the Kardashians (yes, they're pretty and dress well (most of the time), but that's all the niceties I have to say) and she loves them so she's sure that after I watch the first season I'll love them too. This little gem came in the mail and I couldn't stop laughing!! Thanks Becka, it's a great coaster. I kid, I kid!

Just about everyone I know is expecting a baby, apparently we all drank the same cool aid this past summer. It's so exciting and I'm glad to have so many friends and family members to share the experience with. I picked up some goodies to make for a few of my girlfriends and I'm so excited about them.

This week I can feel the baby so much more. I love every time I feel her.

Handbag Makeup + Monthly Must-Reads: January 2013

What make-up do you carry around in your handbag? 

Here's what I keep in my Target Leopard Beauty freebie bag I have:

MAC Studio Fix-I just use my old compact to carry around, that way I don't care if it breaks. It just has the ring of powder and the applicator. I use a brush at home to apply to the applicator is still brand new. 

Sephora Travel Eyelash Curler- I bought this on a whim years and years ago and I love this baby! It's perfect for touch-ups!

Conair Hair Pick- The bigger the hair, the closer to God right?

Equate Eye Drops- Staring at a computer all day can really dry out my contacts/eyes.

Issey Miyake Roller Ball Perfume- This scent is heavenly and one of my favorites. I'll sometimes trade out Marc Jacobs Daisy roller ball.

MAC Cremesheen Glass Boy Bait- the perfect nude gloss

Bath and Body Works Mentha Lip Shine in Vanilla Mint-I haven't used a clear gloss in forever, then I bought this on a whim and love it. It smells delicious too.

Fresh Sugar Lip Balm- Thank you Sephora birthday perks for this, it's the most moisturizing chapstick I've ever used and have saved my lips this winter. I want to pick up some of the tints, have you tried them? What's your favorite?

Revlon Lipliner in Natural- When I do a full lip, I love this soft pink color to line my lips first.

MAC Lipglass Florabundance- Perfect pink-nude gloss with some color, one of my favorites actually.

MAC Lipstick in Hue- Hands down my all time go-to lipstick. It's perfect for everyday, nights out, and gives the most perfect nude lip. Both MAC glosses above layer over it gorgeously.

ULTA Automatic Eyeliner in Black Brown- If I'm meeting up after work, I'll line my top and bottom waterline with this baby.

I love this question, because I like seeing what everyone keeps in their handbags. How many lip glosses do you carry? Do you carry your everyday makeup items, or just a few things? Do you carry makeup at all? Do you use what you carry?

If I'm being honest, I rarely use any of this stuff on an everyday basis. I use something from my bag daily, but not everything I carry. I never touch up my makeup at work, only if I have plans afterwards. I love carrying this goodies though on a night out, I have everything I need at my fingertips!

Gender Reveal! It's a lil...

It was D Day on Friday and we were ready! This was the 2nd most exciting part of the pregnancy (the first was waiting for the test results, third was seeing the baby for the first time with the ultrasound) and the day I was looking forward to for weeks! Thank you for all the tips on Facebook, I put them all to use! I had an entire water bottle, drank 32oz of tea/lemonade (caffeine free), then had half of a caffeinated soda (I never drink caffeine so half a soda can is plenty), and had a fun size candy bar. The baby was moving and in perfect position to show us the goods. They were even tapping their little foot to the music in the room!

That week I had made these chalkboards for the announcement and made one for each gender since I wouldn't have the time on Friday before our reveal. We gathered our family at my husband's parents house for dinner and the excitement.

My Mother-in-law bought a onesie of each too and we added them to the chalkboards. We were prepared!

 Aren't the onesie's so cute! My hubs and I spotted them at Kohl's a few weeks ago and couldn't wait to know what we were having so we could come back and pick one up. Now we don't need to :)

Once the votes were in (this was at the beginning, the finally count was Miss: 13 and Man: 6, we took both the boards around the corner and came back with only one...

We are so excited, thrilled, and happy. We've been waiting to start a family and the moment is finally here. Knowing what we're having has only made it more real. We've started calling her "her" and "she" and by her name. It's been a dream come true!
