Product Review: Corioliss Classic Pro Flat Iron & Future Giveaway!!

This month I was so lucky to have been contacted by Misikko about reviewing a flat iron and sharing it with my readers! There's even one available to a lucky winner in a future post!

It's boastable features:
-Adjustable heat: 140-410 degrees
-Ceramic heat plates
-A swivel cord
-1 Year Warranty

I've been using the straightening iron nearly everyday now and it definitely is a step up from my basic "bought it on sale the devastating day my good one broke" from the local store.

I love the adjustable heat so that I don't damage my hair, it's good for the variety of hair types because of that- coarse, fine, thick, etc. Much better than the "on" or "off" heat setting my old straightener had.

Don't ever let anyone tell you that ceramic heat plates don't make a difference, because listen sisters- it does! My hair feels so much silkier now! That was the biggest shock for me. I've never owned a high end flat iron before, but now I don't know if I could go back. Honestly, I really don't think I could.

Another great aspect of the straightener is its really long cord that actually swivels like it's supposed to so you don't end up with a screwy cord that keeps wrapping up into itself which annoys the crap out of me!

Most of the straighteners I've owned have been 2" plates so I've never been able to create curls using a flat iron. With this 1" iron I'm learning how. I'm not a pro yet though, so I'll have to do a post about that once I am. Any tips for doing that?

I also received the Heat Proof Pouch which is a must have for me (and now I don't have to make myself one with my left over scraps from my Christmas project last year- yay!) because it allows me to pack up and go without having to wait for the iron to cool down or worry about it melting/burning/starting a fire to something in my bag.

(Here's what it looked like when I got it, so cute!)

If you're in the market for a new hair tool, whether it's a Chi Flat Iron or a best blow dryer I definitely suggest checking out Misikko's website to find discounted quality and name brand items with free shipping. I know I'll be using them in the future for sure, especially after this positive experience.

I'll be publishing the giveaway post this week so check back!

What kind of a flat iron do you use? What would you recommend? Any disaster buys?

Motorcycle Boots, I'm Obsessed

Remember how much I loved Ashley Tisdale's motorcycle boots (in this post)? I just couldn't help myself from buying a pair!

I've worn them a few times, but it's too hot over here in CA to keep wearing them, so they'll have to wait for cooler temps. This was such a great buy, they're really comfortable and I can't wait to wear them with dresse, jeans and leggings this fall.

I was kind of worried about the exposed zipper, but it looks really cool in person. I ordered them in black from Go Jane for $31.90.

Target has some really similar ones here you can check out locally and try on before buying. I saw them this weekend, and they look much better in person than online. They have them in black or brown as well.

Cameron Diaz wore a pair she owns that she kept from her Knight and Day movie in the July issue of InStyle and that when I first fell in love with motorcycle boots.

Recently, I've really been on a kick about feminine outfits with tough accents (see Zoe Saldana and Ashley Tisdale Celeb Inspiration posts). I think it's such a fun, sexy way to style outfits and I'm hoping to just pick up some key pieces to mix into my wardrobe.

Have you bought any boots for fall? What styles are you shopping for?

Hair How To: Lea Michele

Remember my Dove post about their new deep conditioners (see post here), well Dove sent me the 411 on how to achieve Lea's look! I'm so excited too because she was my pick for best dressed at the Teen Choice Awards (see here). I thought her loose waves were gorgeous and I can't wait to try these tips for myself! I'll give them a whirl soon and post the pictures for sure for you guys.

Stylist Mark Townsend offered his secret on how to get Lea Michele’s look here:

• Shampoo and condition with Dove Damage Therapy Volume Boost Shampoo and Conditioner the night before to leave hair looking healthy and full of body

• Distribute Dove Body & Lift Volumizing Mousse throughout and blow dry hair with round brush to add lift

• Divide hair into 5 sections: 1 top, 2 sides, 2 back

• Apply Dove Heat Defense Therapy Mist to individual sections immediately before applying curling iron to protect hair against heat styling damage

• Starting with the back section, use a double barrel curling iron on 3 inch sections of hair, letting the curled pieces fall and hair cool without pinning

• Continue to curl the entire head using the double barreled iron to create figure-eight style waves

• Warm a pea-sized amount of Dove Frizz Control Therapy Taming Cream between the palms of hands. Rake fingers through hair to distribute product evenly for shiny, beachy texture.
• Flip head upside down to slightly loosen up the look and spray Dove Unscented Extra Hold Hairspray with Natural Movement throughout

Also, Mark offered a few additional tips about styling Lea’s hair that night and ways to keep it looking great for the red carpet!

• “I use Dove Heat Defense Therapy Mist on dry hair immediately before I use a curling iron or straighter. The product is great for damp hair, pre-blow dry, but also gives an added bit of protection when using heated tools like an iron.”

• “Right before she left her house, I gave Lea a mini Dove Hairspray to carry in her purse. For award shows we often change her look from red carpet to performance or if she is presenting, but since Lea was wearing the same style throughout the evening we needed it to last. I told Lea to spray the sides of her hair just before she got out of the car, for an added bit of staying power. She also had it on hand in case the look needed a boost post-show.”
• “Lea and I often pull inspiration for her looks from a variety of fashion, beauty and Hollywood imagery. But for the Teen Choice Awards, Lea was the inspiration. She’s young, modern, smart and sexy and her look really reflected that sensibility. It was a bold choice – we’ve never done this kind of super volume before, but it looked gorgeous.”

Sounds pretty easy to me! This whole look is one that isn't meant to be perfect so even if your curls aren't symmetrical - go with it!

Shiny, Me Want!

Isn't this Danielle Stevens bracelet so cute? I'm dying to own one with my NEW initials to be or with the monogram of both my Fiance and I. It's very Blair Waldorf I think and would be an easy piece to wear everyday.

What's your thoughts? Do you like monogrammed jewelry? I love monogrammed anything just about, my sister often teases me about it. I guess the years in cheerleading, dance, and sorority have brainwashed me.
