Hair 911...

Ok, so maybe not 911, but I've been dying to switch up my hair for months, but couldn't because of the wedding. I mean, I didn't want to try a new cut or color on a day I'm taking 1000s of pictures, what if it turned out fugly?? (my hair stylist is bomb.com so I'm sure it wouldn't, but it's still risky to try something new before the big day).


So again, I'm dying for a change. A new cut? A new color? I love my hair and color now, but I need something different. I've been rocking this look for a while and need to switch it up. Years ago in my man-eating party college days I had a different cut or color every appointment. Purple streaks? Yep. Mohawk short on top of long hair? Yep. No I didn't style it like that, it was just crazy layers. I would seriously go to my stylist with some punk rock look and tell her, "can you do this in a sorority girl way? ok, thanks". No joke.


Here's some looks that have caught my eye, mind you I may just go into my appointment and say "do whatever you want N, I trust you!", I might say "the usual please" or go in with some awesome photos and tips from my blog friends.


Here's my ideas:


For a cut: I'm thinking of taking just a few inches off. I love the "lob" (long bob) and have rocked it several times over the years, even before it was hip. Here's where it gets tricky though. I LOVE short hair, but then I LOVE really long mermaid hair too. I always cut my hair with the thought of "why not? that's what extensions are for". Which would be my theory now, but my hair is almost to the length I want. Only 3 more inches to go- I even busted out a ruler to double check. So cutting it now would kind of feel like giving up. After that argument with myself I think, "well K, what are you going to when it gets that length? Cut it then?". See? It's a constant inner battle. So check these cuts, but think my current blonde color.

For the color: I am in love with the ombre look (wasn't feeling it at first, but it's really grown on me). I'm scared sick to try it though because there's so many bad dyes out there trying to get this color right. If I went ombre, I would want a more natural color change, and not a horizontal line where the magic happens. Maybe just bleaching out my tips? Here's the colors I like, let me know your thoughts. Cameron and Spencer's colors are my most fave, a really nice blending of shades.

Then, here's short crops I would love to rock if I had the guts to go this short again. The hubster may have a heart attack if I came home with these cuts, he's a die hard fan of ultra long locks.

 

So far, the Hub and my Mom want me to do nothing, just keep it as is.
My gf's want me to cut it.

Celeb Inspiration: Emma Watson

So, most of you ladies know I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, but I'm also a huge fan of Emma Watson. She's just such a doll. She's so classy, daring, and always a lady- something that Hollywood can run short on. She's also ridiculously chic, just ask Burberry who's made her the face of their campaigns.


Fashion Forward: To keep up with her new chic crop, Emma wears equally fashion forward dresses. Exciting cuts and daring textures- this girl knows how to work the latest trends without crossing the lines.

 

Street Style: Miss Watson doesn't just make great fashion choices on the red carpet, but also in real life too. Looking great when the weather is cold can be so hard, but Emma makes it look easy with help from layers and some great jackets.

 

Long and Lovely: Emma wows on the red carpet with long flowy dresses showing of her conservative side while still emanating femininity.

Short and Sassy: With bold colors, daring hemlines, and lots of shine, Emma proves her fashion status with gorgeous frocks, I'm just swooning over these dresses!

I Heart Clutches

Everytime I see pics like these, I save them. I want to be these women, carry those fab bags, and have an armful of bangles.  Love.

Hello Lover.

One bag that has been super popular is the American Apparel Medium Leather Carry-All Pouch (I wrote about wanting it in this post). It's not super expensive, but a little bit pricey considering it's a basic clutch and not a higher-end brand.

Then little miss Taylor from Curly in the City (blog) opened up her own Etsy shop, Curly in the City and busted out some gorgeous clutches of her own for a great price!

Wanna know what else? Now I'm a true fashionista like the pics above with my arm loaded up with bangles.

The leather Taylor uses is great quality- thick enough that pens won't poke holes through and you can't see an outline of your belongings. She can make custom colored clutches, and she also has some great color blocking or printed ones as well. The only negative of clutches like these (in general) is that there's no wrist tie so you have to hold it all night, no big deal though in my opinion.

Weekend Recap- I'm baking!

This weekend I baked, twice! Amazing right? I'm turning out to be quite the wife. However...I just need to make an actual dinner now. 

 

First I made cinnamon rolls for breakfast. They were so super easy. I was inspired by this recipe, but instead of bread slices I used Pillsbury Crescent Rolls, slathered them with butter, cinnamon and sugar. Then rolled them up and buttered, cinnamon and sugared them again and baked for 15 minutes. So easy and delicious! The H ate 4 of them!

 

Then for Father's Day I made Brownie Dipped Oreos. Yep, just as delicious as they sound! Also, really easy to make and were a HUGE hit at the party. I used this recipe, but skipped the frosting because the H said they were sweet enough on their own.
