Lipstick Lover

Ok, after seeing the lipstick mavens from The Daybook and Gal Meets Glam, I've been in the mood for some bright lipstick. I've looked up and down the aisles of Target, Rite-Aid and browsed all of MAC online. I had no idea where I should start.

Then it dawned on my to ask some makeup gurus. Duh, they would know.

Lauren of LollySheep said to check out MAC's Girl About Town and Pink Pigeon, and Bobbi Brown's Neon Pink, Cosmic Raspberry, Pink, and Hibiscus.

Karen of Makeup and Beauty Blog suggested MAC's Force of Love.

Vanessa of Nessa Loves Makeup said to check out MAC's Girl About Town and Full Speed Ahead Pro Longwear Lipglass.

I checked ALL of them out. I was at the MAC store for two full hours. TWO FULL HOURS. My lips were bright pink all on their own from applying, wiping off, and re-applying new shades. All of the colors the ladies suggested were so pretty, but it was so weird seeing myself with such bright lips. I definitely wrote down and saved my favorites for when I was ready for them.

One color that did work, was Karen's suggestions of Force of Love from the Chenman collection. It's a beautiful coral-pink, that's pretty bright, but was an easier jump from my usual nudes.

I seriously love it so much! It's still shocking to see myself in the mirror when I'm used to my usual nudes lipsticks/glosses. I skipped on buying the gloss when I bought this because I thought I'd end up backing out from getting the lipstick, but I'm going to head back and buy it to wear together. This color is fabulous and I'm so happy with trying something outside of my box.

Perks:
-Very opaque, full coverage
-Lasts a few hours, but not long enough to write home about it. You will have to reapply throughout the day
-Doesn't leave a crazy stain so when it does wear off you don't look like some psycho clown
-Matte finish is fabulous alone or topped with gloss to shine it up

Blahs:
-Limited collection so once I'm out I'll have to start a whole new search
-Hard to find, they sell out really quickly (or so I was told)

What's your favorite lipstick? I'm looking for more suggestions to add to my ever growing collection.
My next purchases will be the lipgloss to match this color (if it's still available), MAC Cremesheen Boy Bait, MAC Pink Nouveau, and MAC Full Speed Ahead Pro Longwear Lipglass.

I haven't branched out into the lipstick world past my favorite nudes yet either. It does feel strange to see yourself with a bright color when you are used to neutrals but you'll warm up to it. I'm on the hunt for a bright shade too, I'm thinking more on the coral side.

I am in perpetual search of finding a bold lipstick and also having the balls to branch out and wear it! I love MACs Ruby Woo, but I might have to check out their Girl About Town - they make the best lipsticks!!!

That color is gorgeous on you!!!

I try to do lipstick if I go out...but I usually stick to a tinted lip gloss. I can get to be a hot mess, and lipstick is not a good idea. LOL
