Resolutions, June Update

Wow, this past month was so busy! Holidays and engagement (!), and vacations. I hardly had any time to pay any attention whatsoever to my resolutions. Darn shame....not that I was really doing anything with them to begin with! Ok, so enough of the year has passed that you may have ditched some resolutions (ahem, cooking and journaling) or have started new ones.

So here we go with my progress thus far:

1. Write in my journal- From last month, my journal is still sitting in my desk unopened and the pages are beginning to yellow. Maybe I should just take it home. I did come across a handy little journal called One Line A Day: A Five-Year Memory Book, where you write one line a day. It seems pretty nifty. Maybe I'll give it a whirl? Or do you think it will just be like my Keel's Simple Diary experience? Which to refresh your memory, has been written in maybe 10 times.

2. This is my year of savings- So, this year of savings will quickly be blown on a 5 hour event called a wedding. I've nearly emptied, not completely emptied, just took a large chunk, of  my savings account so far with starting a savings account for the wedding. The Fiance and I are paying for it ourselves, so every cent we earn counts. Yay for overtime and bonuses!

3. Lose 15lbs by May 1st- This past month changed A LOT! Yay me! Even before the proposal, I was starting to eat healthier and started going back to the gym. Now that I have a pretty little gem on my hand, I'm going on the regular. I've even subscribed to Self Magazine for some pointers and motivation. Have you ever read that magazine? I never gave it a look since I wasn't a gym rat, but after looking around on their website for the past month and borrowing copies from my future Sister-in-Laws I'm hooked! I'll be sure to share any knowledge I gain with you ladies!
Do you have any tips for motivating yourself to go to the gym? Any pointers for eating less but not being hungry or tired?? Please dish!!

4. Learn to cook- Ya I ditched this one a few months back, but  have made a few summer recipes that I found last month. I'll be posting about them soon!  Also, my husband to be has begun to drop hints, not really even hints but flat out statements, about his fear of starving to death once we're married. I'll definitely have to register for some beginners cook books. Does it matter that I CAN cook, I just don't enjoy it?

5. To be more personal on this blog- I love so much sharing personal stuff with you guys! It's been so much fun for me. Thank you everyone who reads/comments/emails me! I appreciate each and every one of you, your messages really make my day and I've enjoyed getting to know you guys better and finding new blogs to follow. For any future posts, is there anything you'd like to see more of? Less of? Anything you'd like to know about me?

So, I'm not doing too too hot with my Resolutions, but I do feel refreshed and motivated with an upcoming wedding and the summer season. I'm hoping to make some progress on all of my resolutions, even the ones that have gone astray. Sorry for all of the wedding references above with the resolutions, I promise I won't become ALL wedding stuff All the time. Maybe just a few posts if you guys are interested... are you? are you? huh? Let me know!

So, how have you ladies been doing with your resolutions? Have you changed or modified any of them? Have you said sayonara to any? I hope each one of you are enjoying the summer and any changes that have come your way.

OOTD

Here are some more Outfits of the Day (check out my first post here), this time I didn't feel as dumb taking pictures of myself, especially after I insisted that no they weren't for my Facebook default, but for my blog. LOL!

Please feel free to let me know if you liked what I wore or if I should have styled it differently or change something the next time around.

I wore this out for a comedy show with the Fiance (formerly known as The BF) and some friends in this post. Forever 21 (F21) dress (I pulled up the banded bottom to make is a top), JBrand jeans, Kelly & Katie snake pumps, Coach wristlet.

Here are some work outfits, my work is pretty relaxed about the dress code (thank GOD!) so I can wear sandals (if they have a back) and jeans (without holes) everyday and not just on "casual Fridays":

I saw this cute outfit on Hilary Duff and thought it would be an easy look for work. H&M Top (it was the end of the day, so ignore the wrinkles from sitting down), F21 belt, 2 pairs of Mossimo leggings (I wear two so they're not sheer and a bit warmer), Tahari wedges. I had nude wedges too, but thought the black look better.

F21 cropped top, plain white tank, American Eagle Skinny jeans.

Nordstrom BP tank dress and cardigan, F21 necklace, Steve Madden T-strap sandals.

Yellow F21 top, white tank, JBrand skinny jeans, Target black T-strap sandals. This outfit is inspired by a post from the darling blog The Look 4 Less, click to check it out- such a GREAT blog! Jen finds the best looks and has killer style!

I thought I'd give the NEON TREND a shot. It was pretty easy to wear and I've worn this outfit a couple of times now without feeling too 80s or like I'm trying to re-live my high school years. Don't you hate that feeling when you see something cute and realize you may be ....too old... (ugh typing that out took a lot) to wear something? That's how I felt about neon clothing, but I think I made it work:

Product Review: Tressemme 24HR Body Spray

TRESemme 24 Hour Body Sculpting Spray Gel, 8-Ounce Bottle (Pack of 6)

I'm a girl with lots of fine hair that can be touch to get body in, I tease my hair religiously and have tried SO many "body inducing" hair products most have which have been ho-hum, leave my hair heavy with product, or are too ridiculously expensive to use on a daily basis.

This little gem caught my eye a few weeks ago and I must say it's a steal! Before I blow dry my hair, I spray this all over my crown on the top and lift the sections to spray underneath as well then style as usual. It doesn't leave my hair heavy AT ALL, not even after a few days without washing. I can barely tell I put any additional product in my hair when I use this (to see what other products I use, check out this post). It didn't take my hair from flat to Victoria Secret runway body, but it did give me a lot of boost and made my teasing so much easier since I had more body to work with. I also noticed that my hair has more body the days I go without washing which is a HUGE pro for me since my hair gets flatter and flatter as the days go by.

I really like this product from the 24 Hour Body Line so much so that I think I'm going to try the entire line (still use my Dove conditioner though- it's the best!) to see if using them all together will give me that glorious and enviable Victoria Secret look I love:

For $5 I think every girl who loves big hair or needs an extra boost should at least give this product a shot. Have you tried this spray before? What was your experience? What products do you use for body?

David's 2nd Birthday Party

My favorite baby boy's birthday was a few weeks ago at the Irvine Park (one of the BEST parks ever, if you live near the area, you should definitely check it out!)

Here's Mommy and I setting up for the party. We have wicked balloon skills, who says being in a sorority doesn't teach you anything? Psssh.

We had some time to kill so we took a walk down lover's lane

My cousin's (Mommy and Daddy to the Birthday Boy) freaking made this cake! So...are you guys in the wedding cake business? I'm looking for one... JK!

A funny face montage with some of my favorite ladies. We had almost 30 pictures, so I tried to pick the best ones for show

"YOU SHALL NOT PASS" This picture freaking cracks me up!
