Hot or Not: Kim K's Braids

For the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, Kim Kardashian wore her hair long and loose, but mixed it up by adding a few random braids. If you know me at all, you know I LOVE a good hair braid (check out here, here, here and check me out on Glamour's site here) and so does Kim K, you gals loved her braid from this post.

What do you think of this look? At first I thought it was kind of weird, but it's really grown on me and I think it's a perfect way to mix it up for spring this year. To do something a little out of the box without switching up your entire look and would be really simple to re-create.

Make sure you use clear plastic bands like these Goody ones to tie it off. They really are invisible and I use them all the time. They stretch out so it's great for any thickness of hair.

It's All In The Eyes

Tell me ladies, what's your eye beauty routine? Namely, what do you do with your bottom lid and lashes?

Do you go full out eyeliner, eyeshadow on the bottom and mega mascara like these bombshells?
 

Do you wear liner but no mascara or vice versa like these pretty young things?
 

Or are you more natural like these beauties?


I tend to switch my look up depending on where I'm going and what I'm doing. Before, I never used to wear mascara on my bottom lashes- just liner or nothing at all, but this year I've started putting mascara on the bottom lashes regardless of whether or not I'm wearing liner. It can kind of be a pain because I have long lashes and the tips will get mascara onto my cheeks and I have to clean it up, but I like the overall look it gives. I feel more "done" when I wear mascara or liner on the bottom. A naked bottom eye can always be appreciated though in my book and I still rock it from time to time.

OOTD

Here is a new post for OOTD, I'm thinking I'm going to do these more regularly and with just a few outfits instead of so many at one time. Any thoughts?

So Kim's scarf has orange in it to match her orange Birken, but mine has green so I accented that with a green Coach purse.

These outfits at the end I've been taking myself with my camera resting on my dresser using a timer so that's why they're kind of blurry. I'm working on my camera skills though. These pictures are killing me...and they're not very flattering.

New Hair Braid Trend?

Check out Kim Kardashian's hair when she went out with Ciara for lunch:

 

It looks like she just did an upside down braid down the center. I like it! It looks really simple, keeps your hair out of your face, and is a different look than the usual braided bangs down the side that's been so popular lately. I think that this look would be best for long thick hair and would be so easy to copy!

How do you do an upside down braid you ask? When braiding your hair, instead of crossing the hairs over each side you simple cross them under instead.

What do you think of the braid? Do you like it? Are you going to try it? Do you think it will catch on?

Major 2010 Trends...In One Outfit

Kim Kardashian has great style and is always "on" in the public eye. She could even be considered a fashionista, always wearing the latest everything and wearing it well.

What about when you just go for it and wear all the trends at once? Does "too much of a good thing" exist? I think so ladies. She did it in 2009 (see my post here) and now she's done it again with the 2010 trends.

Sexy cut-outs? Check. Asymmetrical dress? Check. Fierce shoulders? Check. Peplum skirts? Check. Yep, she's got them all there in this LBD:

 

In other Internet buzz, rumors have been swirling about Khloe Kardashian and whether or not she's prego. She and Lamar have talked openly about wanting and trying for children, but she's recently kept mum on the current status of it. She's also worn mostly baggy tops and conveniently poses with props in front of her waist to keep the buzz going. I saw this pic of her this morning... looks like it could be a baby bump or just an extra poofy skirt. What's your take?

Orange Crush

Here's Amber Valetta at the premiere of The Spy Next Door rocking a hot mini and I've heard that orange will be a new "it" color for summer and I'm all for it! Orange is such a fun vibrant color and I think it's time it gets a little bit more attention. A few years ago, all I wanted was a fun orange dress for my sorority's semi-formal, I looked everywhere for an orange dress, but to no avail- it just wasn't a hot color at that time. So, I did what any fashion forward girl would do and I designed and had a dress made. It has to be my favorite dress I ever wore! It fit perfect and made me stand out and was so much fun to dance in....until I had a fashion mishap anyways.

You might think that orange isn't for you, but don't pout just yet! Everyone can wear a shade of orange, you just need to find one that fits your skin tone and hair color.

Here are some examples of gorgeous ladies all rocking different shades of orange:

As you can see, these ladies looked great in both bright and light orange colors, regardless of skin tone or hair color. The key to pulling off orange is finding the right tone, whether it has a pink or golden undertones. Don't know your skin tone? Which color looks best on you, gold or silver? If gold looks best, you have a warm skin tone and can pull off the more vibrant orange colors. If silver looks best, you have a cool skin tone, lean more towards the yellow hued if you have light hair or the orange-brown colors if you have darker hair. If you're too shy to go all out, try an orange bag, scarf, or headband to add some color to your outfits.

Kim Kardashian has it all! However, I would definitely put this in my "Don't ever wear this, not even to get the mail" category. What about you ladies? Even though I don't always care about Kim (see here and here or even here) she's smoking hot 95% of the time, so I can't be too harsh on her. But why hide your gorgeous body with a dress that looks like it was made for a football player?
