Motorcycle Boots, I'm Obsessed

Remember how much I loved Ashley Tisdale's motorcycle boots (in this post)? I just couldn't help myself from buying a pair!

I've worn them a few times, but it's too hot over here in CA to keep wearing them, so they'll have to wait for cooler temps. This was such a great buy, they're really comfortable and I can't wait to wear them with dresse, jeans and leggings this fall.

I was kind of worried about the exposed zipper, but it looks really cool in person. I ordered them in black from Go Jane for $31.90.

Target has some really similar ones here you can check out locally and try on before buying. I saw them this weekend, and they look much better in person than online. They have them in black or brown as well.

Cameron Diaz wore a pair she owns that she kept from her Knight and Day movie in the July issue of InStyle and that when I first fell in love with motorcycle boots.

Recently, I've really been on a kick about feminine outfits with tough accents (see Zoe Saldana and Ashley Tisdale Celeb Inspiration posts). I think it's such a fun, sexy way to style outfits and I'm hoping to just pick up some key pieces to mix into my wardrobe.

Have you bought any boots for fall? What styles are you shopping for?

Celeb Inspirations: Ashley Tisdale

Ashley is one of my biggest celeb crushes. She rarely disappoints me on the red carpet scene and I would just die to swap closets with her. Plus, she's one of those celebrities I think I would be friends with in real life if she was in my neighborhood or whatnot. I can't wait to check out Hellcats on The CW this fall where she plays a captain of a college cheerleading team in the new comedy-drama. Ashley is a great role model too, I've never seen pictures of her leaving clubs drunk and tripping over herself, her films are all child friendly, and she dresses appropriately for her edge. Sexy, young, girly, and adds a bit of edge to her ensembles. One of the best aspects of her style is the range of it. She definitely has a specific "style", but doesn't dress one way 24/7. Also, all of her looks are easy to copy for us everyday chicks with a few versatile pieces.

Tough accents: I loved this style with Zoe Saldana too- kick ass pieces with feminine clothes. Ashley uses a studded bags, leather jacket, and tough shoes to up-the-ante. This look is really easy to pull off with the right accessories- black booties, red lipstick, or a studded belt are all items you probably have in your closet, just pair them with a cute dress or a floral dress to get the look.

Casual: Tisdale's style is laid back and comf- she really is your girl next door (just with fabulous hair and high end labels). Included here are some of her more casual red carpet looks as well because they'd be easy to emulate and could double for a good work outfit. Skinny jeans with a basic top makes a great outfit when layered with a scarf, cardigan or necklaces. Just don't forget cute shoes and a hot bag.

Why you need to own motorcycle boots: Boots are big every fall, but I can't wait to get myself some motorcycle boots! Especially after seeing how versatile Ashley makes them. Don't be afraid to pair them with your everyday wear, dresses, or even shorts.

Red Carpet: One thing is for sure when it comes to Ashley's red carpet choices, they have to sparkle! Short and sweet it her usual go-to, but she always picks something that stands out, is a good hemline for her height, and a neckline that showcases her small bust.

What do you think of Ashley's style? Are you already a fan? What's your favorite look? I can't pick just one, I seriously think I'd wear everything I've seen her wear before, even just her gym outfits. No joke.

Any suggestions for future Celeb Inspirations? Let me know in a comment or email.

I'm In Love With White Dresses

I started noticing a trend in my picture file and it's white dresses. I adore white, it's one of my favorite colors and if I had to wear one thing for the rest of my life it would be a white v-neck tee I think.

White can definitely be worn year round, no more wearing it until Labor Day. The key to wearing white in the winter time is really paying attention to the material and weight of the item. Anything too thin should definitely be kept for the warmer months. Some of these pictures are from earlier this year, but could still totally be rocked this winter. An easy way to winterfy white is to add a cool jack- a leather one like Rumer Willis, add tights like Rose Byrne, or a heavy statement necklace a la Emma Roberts. Most of these ladies accessorized with black, but red, blue or even a pink would look fabulous too!

Up For Debate?

Over at Day Old News (such a great gossip blog- I love it!) had a new post about Zac Efron's celebratory party for his Nylon cover and had the following pic of one of my style icons Ashley Tisdale:
Photobucket
Yes, she always looks great, but here is where I have a question,

1. Is it still appropriate to wear shorts (especially cut-off denim ones) out after hours in November?
2. How do you feel about shorts and boots?

Are these Do's or Don'ts? Please advise!!

I currently reside in CA and although it is quite warm here, I just don't feel like I can still wear my cut-off shorts.Tailored shorts with textured tights? Yes.
Also, there's always a debate about shorts and boots, especially with Uggs.

What's your opinion?

I Really Love Ashley Tisdale

Especially when she's blonde! She went back to blonde last week and although she looks great brunette, I prefer her with lighter tresses. I totally love her style too- she always dresses girly with a bit of edge and appropriate for her age.

Do you like this style with the exposed bra? I've seen it on Rihanna and Gwen Stefani recently too. I think it works for here on Ashley because the outfit isn't skeezy, is a bright color, and is a nice fabric (as far as I can tell from the pic). I'm really loving her bra too, I saw a thick band bra over the weekend that I loved, but the store didn't have it in my size. I think the thick band is kind of old school glamorous as well.

My New Favorite Show (and Obsession)

It's On With Alexa Chung

Photobucket

It's a new talk show on MTV (weekdays at noon) and she is so fresh and hilarious! Her show is setup to have 3 interviews and a run through of celebrity news and new internet videos, and performances. The show also integrates Facebook and Twitter - fans get to ask the guests questions or dares. This is great because I believe that Alexa really cares about her audience and wants to include them in her show. Alexa also plays fun games with guests such as "Interpretative Dance" where the guests have on headphones and have to dance out a song and let the audience guess what song it is based on the dance, or "Will You Pet It?" where the guest is blindfolded and an item is described to them and they have to pet it and figure out what it is, "Truth or Dare" is another favorite as well. I like Alexa's great attitude, how she asks fun or unusual questions of her guests, her crazy hair, and I especially love her games. She's really funny, a model, vegetarian (she doesn't "eat anything with a face") and she's from Britain-I love listening to her accent and how she speaks. My sister and I spent all night Friday catching up on her show and laughed so hard! I recommend this show to everyone!
So far my favorite interviews have been Ashley Tisdale, Jim Sturgess, Daniel Radcliffe, and Cameron Diaz. You can check out more and Alexa's highlights here
