OOTD: Date Night Look + Some Honest Truths

So, I totally realize that my only pose is with a hand on my hip, but that's all I have folks. I'm not a model or a major blogger, so I'll just have the hubs snap pics on my iPhone in front of our garage for now instead of going to a location and fake walking. Nothing against those bloggers, I love them, follow them, and buy all the crap they're selling, I'm just not that talented. Or have the time. Or a husband that is willing to take pics. Most of the time I have to twist his arm. 

Want to know where I wore this pretty little ditty? No where. It's just for the pics because I bought it last month and it's been sitting in my closet mocking me. I'm dying to wear it out for a date with my main squeeze, but we haven't had the time. We have sitters lined up and we're gonna go out next month. So I've been eyeing this top and dreaming about how I'm gonna wear it so I was doing my makeup and putting stuff away and decided to try it on and put a look together.

Lipstick in Silly

This lipstick is a total impulse buy during a 2am nursing session. Well, afterwards actually, because I was wide awake and went down a total rabbit hole of MAC lipstick. I was looking online, on Pinterest, making collages comparing swatches found on Pinterest. Hot mess express people. I'm sure that's not normal. I also have my eye on Flocking Fabulous and Please me. I'm also fully aware that I need another pink lipstick like I need a hole in my head.

That's my honest truths ladies. I wore this outfit solely for this post because I'm dying to wear it and I'm sick of looking at it hanging up. I can't pose to save my life and I'm a pink lipstick addict that mulls over lipstick shades like a crazy woman.

For summer I've been obsessed with this look. I can't wait to get my hands on this romper, it's so cute and I love the fun print. Rompers made a comeback a few years ago and I see them everywhere right now. They are back in a huge way this season. Below are some of my favorites!

I finally wore that pink dress (from this Recent Purchase post)! I was so excited to wear it, it's been hanging in my closet for a while waiting for my Grand Big Sis' wedding to be taken out for a night on the town.

It fit really well, was really comfortable and I loved the loose sleeve.I can't wait to wear it again!

Recent Purchases

I have some weddings and bachelorette parties coming up and needed to find some dresses for all of them. I've been searching through my closet, but with all the showers and weddings this past year, everything has been worn a ton and I have a ton of pictures in them. I needed something new, so I bought two dresses that can be worn a few times and then I'm going to borrow a few others for the other events.

Seychelles One Shoulder Hot Pink Dress

When I saw this dress, it just screamed my name! I bought it instantly. First, it's one-shouldered which is kind of my signature dress, and second it's hot pink which is one of my favorite colors. Can it not be more perfect? I got it from Lulus and they're already sold out, but if you like it, keep an eye out because they often re-stock similar dresses like this. 

Fitted Lace Dress (ProductCode: 2000016165)

The dress is from Forever 21 (you can find it here but I gave the product code because their links rarely work) and it so much cuter in person. I can't wait to wear it and show you guys the pics, it's lovely. The lace and gold details are really pretty. I feel like the sleeves make it more versatile, the fabric is extra stretchy and it's really comfortable. They had it last year too, but I didn't bite the bullet. I'm so glad they had it again!

For both dresses I picked up some simple gold hoops and bracelets and I'm going to wear it with some strappy gold sandals I picked up a few months ago on sale at Nordstroms. I love when accessories and shoes can double on trips, it makes packing so much easier.

 

Urban Decay Naked Palette

Dun, dun, dun. I finally picked up Urban Decay Naked Palette! I've had my eye on it for-evah and when I got a 20% off coupon for my entire purchase at Ulta, I couldn't pass this puppy up. I figured I'd never get it for such a great price again. I haven't opened it yet, but I'm dying to try it out. I'm kind of saving it for a special event or something. Do you ever do that, buy something simple but save it for something special?

Oh and if you follow me on Twitter, you've seen this, but I wanted to tell everyone that my DV by Dolce Vita 'Dakota' Sandal from this Recent Purchase post is on sale at Nordstrom's. They're seriously so cute, easy to dress up or down, and really comfortable. They're my favorite sandal by far. I'm thinking about getting them in black now....

What have you guys been buying lately? It's such an awkward buying time right now in stores because they're all stocking up with fall stuff and I'm in no way ready for fall. Especially with such hot days!

Look What Came in the Mail...

The Proud Mary handbag from Lulus, I love it! It's the perfect chic nude bag. It also comes with a longer strap for you to wear it longer on your shoulder or cross-body. It's faux leather, but I would never have known, it's so soft.

Then I went out with my Aunt and picked up this pretty thing at Ross, it's so cute and completely me I couldn't help but buy it. It would have just followed me home if I hadn't. The fun color and pockets are what really sold me. For a bag to become my everyday one it must have easy to access pockets for my cell/keys/lipgloss. This one has 5(!) on the outside, a zip on the inside, two pockets for cell/whatever, and 8 credit card slots. Woohoo!
