Recent Purchases: Fashion, Beauty, and Home

With fall basically here, even if it's still in the 100s, I've been on a little bit of a shopping spree getting some new post bump duds. There's so many great things out right now, I want one of everything! Sometimes, the start of a season can be slow fashion-wise, but I love everything that's out right now and have a hard time not adding it all to my shopping cart.

Spring is my favorite season and sometimes, I look forward to fall just for a change of routine, but it is by far not my favorite season. This year? It can't come soon enough!! For one, I'll have a sweet new baby in my arms and two, the high temps are killing me! I can't wait for 70s weather.

So, like I said, I've been on a bit of a spree and wanted to share with you all the great things I've found, almost all under $50 (the booties are under $100!) that you NEED for fall too!

Lust List

 photo Lust List Blend_zpsbp0cecy5.jpg

Spring is the worst season on my wallet, I swear. There's so many things I want and I feel like a child in a candy store. Ooh shiny! Ooh pink! Ooh nude! Ooh shimmer! It's ridiculous and since my wallet isn't as fat as it used to be in the "let's spend all of my money and pick up an extra shift this weekend because my bills and responsibilities are little" category I had in college, so I made a fun collage instead. Also, my birthday is coming up so hubs, if you read the blog, just click the links, add to cart, and check out. Please and thank you.

Sunnies- I love my cheapie cat eye sunglasses from Nordies, but I love these pink aviators, although I have no idea if they would work with my face shape.

Purse- I've had my eye on a few cross body bags (Michael Kors and Kate Spade) and I think this is the perfect size and shape. I love the chain detail and although I really would love a fun color, I think nude is best to get the most wear out of it. I was checking out their aquamarine, but my sister has a MK purse in that color and rarely uses and we both think it's more of a "summer only" type color.

Nikes- So I never work out, but I really need a new pair of tennis shoes. Do people still call it that? Anyways, my only want for work out shoes is a fun bright color (by "work out" I mean to wear with yoga pants that have never been to a yoga class).

Sandals- This season I really want a pair of dressier gladiator/strappy sandals. I've seen cute ones online for under $50 at Old Navy and Target, but they sell out so quickly. I'm looking for a pair like these that have a small wedge and would look great all summer with shorts and dresses and go perfectly with a cuffed pair of skinnies in the fall.

Earrings- Aren't these Derng earrings gorgeous?! I love the color and the mixed metals. I would definitely wear these all the time.

Blush- This MAC Dame blush has been on my radar for a while (I featured it in my Spring Beauty post) and since I found out my beloved Pink Swoon has been discontinued, I want this blush real bad. Like Elle's sidekick in Legally Blonde wanted a hot dog, that bad.

Ring- This ring has been in my cart from Stella and Dot since forever. Why haven't I bought? No clue. It reminds me of Olivia Pope's ring in Scandal (they're not really that similar, but it reminds me of it nonetheless) and I just love it. It's simple, chic, and right up my alley.

Wallet- I need a new wallet so badly. I'm so crazy picky about one that I've been using a small Coach coin purse/wristlet for much longer than I care to admit. Although, I do like that it's small enough to fit in my clutches and has a wristlet to whip out on a quick errand, I need a big girl wallet like yesterday. This bright yellow one makes me happy and I thought it would be a great way to get organized.

What items are you lusting over this season? Which season do you love to shop the most? Are you an add to wishlist/cart and never check out girl like me? Spill the beans ladies!

OOTD: Mint & Glitter

Hi Everyone!
I just got back from Utah yesterday after spending 8 days with my family. This week's posts will be some that I had scheduled last week, but didn't feel it was appropriate to post with what was going on. Once I'm less emotional, I'll probably do a post about my trip, but for now I just wanted to thank all of you for the support and love you gave! Your comments, emails, tweets, and texts meant so much to me. My Grandmother's passing was very difficult, she meant the world to me. Despite the circumstances, my trip home was wonderful. It was so great to see family, some of which I haven't seen in years! Thank you again for being so sweet, I can't tell you how much your words made me smile and lifted my spirits. Hope you all have an amazing Monday and great start to the week!

OOTD: They Call Me Mellow Yellow

H&M Dress (can't find on the site)
Nordstrom BP Belt (old)
Qupid Wedges from GoJane (old)
Jewelry: F21 Necklace, Bracelets Derng and Tiffany, Michael Kors Watch

The more OOTD pics I take the more I realize we need a better camera, my hubs need to take photography classes, and I need to learn how to use photoshop.

This dress is one of my new favorites, in real life it's almost a neon yellow. I love the lace overlay on the white, it's so fun and chic. I saw the dress a little bit ago at H&M, but the sizing just didn't fit me right and the price was great on it's own, but not low enough to also have it altered. Then H&M had it for half off over Labor Day weekend, boom. Sold. I couldn't wait to wear it before having it altered though so I just belted it. I plan on having it taken in because I'm almost swimming in it and then it will fit perfectly. I think it will look cute this fall with some boots and a trench.

OOTD- Sparkles

Old Navy Blouse (here)
F21 Skinnies (here, most comfortable jeans ever!)
Nine West Wedges (old)
Nordstrom BP Head Band (here)
Jewelry: Michael Kors watch, Tiffany Bracelet, Derng Bracelet, Junghwa Necklace

I love this top, it's so versatile and really comfortable to wear. I also like that it's so long, I think it will be fab over some liquid or printed leggings and will be super cute tucked in with a skirt. I think next time I wear it, I'll tuck it in and pair it with a leopard belt.

I'm obsessed with this head band! It's so gorgeous and really sparkles in the light and is gorgeous next my darker hair. Ever since I posted about fall trends, I went out and picked it right up! I can't wait to wear it with a cute messy bun. I really wasn't ready for fall, but it's slowly creeping in and I keep finding myself wanting dark nails and cozy sweaters.

Favorite of the Week- Derng

Everything According to Erin

My absolute favorite item for the past week or so is the Derng bracelet I won in Devon Rachel's giveaway. Be sure to check out her blog, she's absolutely fabulous and has amazing style.

Have you heard of Derng? I hadn't until Devon's giveaway, but now I'm obsessed. I have my eye on some other pieces from their collection. I just love how fresh, on trend, and versatile they are. They can be worn with every outfit.

Aren't their pieces gorgeous! Perfect for every arm party. A must-have in my book.

Easter OOTD and Re-Cap

Nordstrom Rack Colored Denim, Nordstrom BP sunnies, F21 Ruffle Top/Necklace, Dolce Vita Sandals, Michael Kors Watch, Derng Bracelet, Essie Pink Parka on my toes

I thought I'd wear the brightest colors I could and I think it went well. I've actually been dying to wear these two pieces together for a while now and thought Easter would be perfect. No one of my family was surprised by my shockingly bright color combo.

Our Easter was fabulous! Matt and I had a great time spending the day with our families. I wish the day could have lasted longer. The weather was perfect and the food was yummy.

As most of you know, I'm only good for drinks, appetizers, and desserts. After my Easter Treats post, here's what I made:

Chocolate Dipped Peeps
The chocolate gives Peeps a total makeover. Delicious! The extra sprinkles add some crunch too. I think I'll make these every year, they're just so easy!

Colored Devilled Eggs
After you cut the boiled eggs in half, rinse the white part and dip into a cup with food coloring. I didn't add any vinegar, just added dye (I used the dye that comes in egg coloring kits) to warm water. So stinking simple and can totally be done for any theme or holiday. I plan on dying all future devilled eggs.

Caramel Apple Nachos
Umm, these were so good I had to make two batches and they still weren't enough! Sliced apples, caramel sauce (organic or natural is best because it's thinner and tastes delicious, I just used Trader Joe brand), and any toppings you like for a caramel apple (I used Heath baking bits, but Oreos, chopped nuts, chocolate drizzle, etc would all be delicious).

Oh, and did I mention I saw the creepiest Easter bunny ever at Albertson's? I wanted to tell the kid sit up straight to avoid the horror movie effect to his already terrifying costume.

I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend and their Easter holiday. How did you spend the weekend? What treats did you make?
