Guest Post: Crumbs and Curls

Today we have a guest post, Kristin from Crumbs and Curls. She's new to blogging and she and I have gotten to know each other from emailing and she is just a doll! I love finding and connecting with people from blogging, getting to know them and sharing stories, and Kristin is my newest friend. She is so sweet and Crumbs and Curls is a fun read, she covers celebrities, recipes, fashion, and beauty- a girl after my own heart. I'm so happy to have her post today, I hope you all enjoy!

Hello Kristen's readers, its nice to meet you!  My name is Kristin & I blog over at Crumbs and Curls.  I stumbled upon Love, Lipstick, and Pearls on Pinterest one day, & was instantly in love.  In fact I adored Kristen's blog so much that I decided to start my own.  For as long as I can remember I have loved all things beauty, fashion, baking, & crafting, so I decided to blog about what I love.  I have really, really been enjoying blogging, & have met so many nice people.  Kristen has been so sweet, helpful, & encouraging, & I am beyond excited to be taking over Love, Lipstick, and Pearls today, it's a blog dream come true! 

As I mentioned above I love fashion & when it comes to fashion no one has better style then models. Models get to wear the most incredible designer clothes every day, & they take what they learn from their job & translate it into their every day off duty style.  Alessandra Ambrosio is a super stylish well known model & mom.  She has a bohemian look going on, which shows through her frequent wearing of long billowy skirts & tiny cutoffs that some how make her insanely long legs look even longer.  She plays with bright & neural colors, & changes up her footwear with boots, sandals, & flats.  From dresses to jeans & warm to cool weather she always looks so chic & well put together.  Alessandra is always with her kids, & sometimes even dresses her mini me daughter to match her (they even did a London Fog campaign together!).  She has such effortless style & is a great inspiration for everyday looks, here are some of my favorite.

Which look is your favorite?

Something that would go very well with Alessandra's street style is Essie's Summer 2013 Collection.  This nail polish collection is full of fun brights that would go great against a summer tan.  It includes shades from a pretty bright pink/purple to a sparkly teal.  I have a small nail polish addiction & may have already picked up 'The Girls Are Out'.  I highly recommend picking one of these up ASAP so you can wear it before the summer comes to an end!

This is my favorite crafting post, because I love glitter.  With these instructions I glittered multiple mason jars (to hold makeup brushes, flowers, q-tips, cotton balls, & much more), chargers, a stapler, & a tray.  It's a fun inexpensive way to update items!

2. "Perfume Help from The Beauty Department" 

I found a great perfume scent attraction chart on The Beauty Department, which helped to make a great beauty post about perfumes.

3. "Celebrity Style Obsession: Lauren Conrad" 

I've done a few "Celebrity Style Obsessions", but I feel like Lauren Conrad's style is chic yet obtainable, making her another great person to look to for outfit inspiration.

4. "Yummy and Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookies"  

This is the best chocolate chip cookie recipe ever, even my sister who is the pickiest eater ever is obsessed with them.  The best part is they have no butter or white sugar, but you would never know!

Hello Love, Lipstick and Pearls fans! This is Erin from Everything According to Erin. I am super honored to be guest blogging for Miss K while she is busy celebrating her marriage with all of her family and friends. First off I just want to say congrats! I am so happy for you and I wish you many years of love and happiness in your marriage. I'm glad to call you one of my bestie bloggie friends and it's been great getting to know you.

Ok, down to business folks. I've got some good stuff to share with you guys. If any of you read my blog, you know that I have pretty much the same interests as K: beauty products, clothes, fashion and of course hot men! So I'd like to share with you some of my favorites for this upcoming spring/summer season. I hope you enjoy!

- Your must have beauty item: One of my favorite beauty products hands down has to be Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin. I recently bought this item with a lot of influence from a couple of girlfriends and other bloggers. I fell in love with Sin, but they also have two other colors: Eden and Original. Sin has a natural shimmer to it that I can use as a primer, but it also has enought color to be used by itself which why this one is my favorite. The best part about this product is that my eyeshadow not only stays put for hours, but it also makes the colors just look better. I mean I can sleep in my makeup and wake up the next morning looking like I just put it on. Now that I recommend you do that, but sometimes things happen!

- An item you're lusting over this season: The item I am lusting over this season is a properly fitting Fedora hat. I must have tried on 30 of these hats last year and could never find one that looked exactly how I wanted it. I want a straw color with a black stripe. When I would try them on, they'd be too wide or I'd like them but they'd be a different color that I wasn't sold on. I've even found a couple that I was ready to buy only to find out they were over $50, which is just not reasonable to me. Now you can find these everywhere: Old Navy, Nordstroms, GAP, Target, etc. I think they are a cute accessory this summer with a simple white tank and jeans or with shorts and a blazer. So if any of you ladies know of another good place to check please send me a message over at my blog.

- Your favorite trend for spring/summer: My favorite trend this summer is maxi dresses. You can't have too many of them. They are perfect for summer whether you're at the beach, a picnic or a nice dinner out. I currently have 5 of these dresses and keep collecting them. If you haven't checked out Old Navy yet, I suggest you do. They have a HUGE selection right now and are so reasonably priced, you just can't go wrong with any of them. I recently bought 2 from there. The one I'm wearing in the picture is my favorite. I saw it in the commercial and just had to have it. I had to go to 3 different stores to find it and have gotten nothing but compliments on it every time I wear it. What do you guys think? A maxi dress and a fedora hat is this seasons cutest outfit in my opinion.

- What you're looking forward to this summer: Besides cute outfits and dusting off my flip flops, I am looking forward to 2 things this summer. One: is spending any time I can at the beach. We don't have anything planned as of yet for the summer, but we always take a few day trips when we can. This is going to sound really silly, but I can't wait to start cooking my summer recipes. I have become quite the chef since my bf and I moved in together and I love trying new things. I find that there are so many more fun recipes to try in the summer. Plus there's always more picnics, cookouts and parties when it's warm. I feel like I make something new every weekend. I can't wait to make things like Jell-O Tiramisu Bowl. Finally, I am so excited to see the Hangover II this summer. Bradley Cooper is one of my favorite leading men for many reasons. Not only is he easy on the eyes, but he is a Philly guy. I gotta show some love to a local boy. If any of you have seen him in A-team, he is constantly wearing Phillies shirts and to me he's hotter in that than any Armani suit-but that's just me ladies.

- Your favorite Hollywood Hot Man: Well a picture of Bradley Cooper is definitely a great way to end a post. I hope everyone enjoyed my guest post today, I know I enjoyed writing it! Take care guys and congrats to K!

 

Looks like Bradley Cooper is everyone's Hot Man! Finding a fedora is definitely difficult, IDK why they make them so large- I have that problem too.

- Your must have beauty item: I am obsessed with beauty items and am always out trying the latest and greatest, but my go to beauty item that I cannot be without has got to be Tarte Cheek Stain in Flush. I have been using it for 8 plus years now and it just leaves your cheeks with the prettiest glow around.

- An item you're lusting over this season: I am lusting over these True Religion Sue Strappy Wedge for spring and summer. Love the tassel in the back and I am pretty sure they will go with just about anything I want to wear

- Your favorite trend for spring/summer: My favorite trend for spring/summer 2011 is bright sorbet nails! The entire Braziliant collection from Essie just screams summertime, beachside with a delicious tropical cocktail in hand.

- What you're looking forward to this summer: I am most looking forward to lazy days by the pool, bike rides around the beach and fun times with friends the summer always brings.

- Your favorite Hollywood Hot Man: Whenever Miss K features the dashing Ryan Gosling in her Hot Man Parade posts, my day just always seems to get a little bit better. He brilliant blue eyes, his old school good looks, he had me at The Notebook and I haven't looked back since. I had the luck of meeting him once and let me just tell you, he does not disappoint one ounce. Tall, smiley, rugged and sweet...just perfection!

Hello everyone!! I'm off until I return from my honeymoon....which will have been a few days ago but I'm still recouping from the wedding and honeymoon. I need like another week to recover. At least I think I will since I'm writing this to be posted in a few weeks. It's kind of like back to the future. Next guest post is from one of my fave bloggers, Reed from Life is Reed-iculous. She seriously has the best style and superb taste. She's also a sweetheart and owns some adorable pups.

- You must have beauty item: My must have beauty item would  have to be mascara. I have dark eyes, but light colored lashes and without it, i just look sickly. I've tried all brands but right now I'm using Maybelline OnebyOne Volume Express.

- An item you're lusting over this season: These wedges by Christian Louboutin. There are always a couple items a season that I stare at over and over...until they are sold out! If they come within my reach again, they will be mine.

 -Your favorite trend for spring/summer: There are so many great trends right now! I'm of course loving the 70s style, now if only I wasn't shaped like JLo maybe I would be able to rock this a little better. But I'm also loving the feminine neutrals and florals, bold color blocking, bright tribal patterns, and I have, and always will, rock nautical stripes b/c I'm simply a nautical person! My favorite look incorporating my favorite trend would be this:

- What you're looking forward to this summer: My bff for the past 20 years is getting married in July!! It is going to be nothing short of a fabulous soiree and I am looking forward to all the festivities that go along with it, especially the bachelorette party!

-Your favorite Hollywood hot man: Oh, this is easy. Alexander Skaarsgard of course! He was made to play Eric Northman and I just think he's one beautiful Scandinavian.

Hey guys it's me! Oh who's me? Well me of course... Yep. That crazy Rissy girl from Carissa Explains It All. I am all kinds of excited to be guest posting for Miss K today... for a lot of reasons. I mean for one, this is one of my favorite blogs to read! Two, Kristen actually gave criteria for the guest post, and I truly do love structure. And three, I am always flattered and get all fluttery (best descriptive word I could find) when someone asks me to guest post. So let's get to it.

- Your must have beauty item: My must have beauty item is....

 

Ok two items. Loreal's Fabulash Blackest Black mascara and Covergirl's Perfect Point Plus eyeliner in black. You see, I have REALLY dark eyes. They are practically black... and not to be braggy, but I like them and try to highlight them. Hopefully you can see the huge difference my two favorite items make... Fabulash is truly the best mascara I have ever used, and I have tried A LOT! My lashes are pretty long, but not super thick. This mascara makes them look thicker, and as long as possible. Perfect point comes with a smudger on one end (which is a must) and goes on smoothly enough to look like liquid while being a little more mistake proof. Sorry I don't have tips for you beautiful blue eyed beauties : (

- - An item you're lusting over this season: This Summer I am lusting over...

 

Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B bags. (which I am lusting over year round). These three are a few of my favorites, but you can shop more of the collection HERE on Nordstrom's online store. The plain white bag is my favorite if anyone is feeling generous ; )

- Your favorite trend for spring/summer: My favorite trend for spring/summer is....

 

A romper! I am obsessed! I already own three and happen to want more. Like this one from F21. Love the belted waist, and more importantly the PRICE! 17 dollars!? yes please.

- What you're looking forward to this summer: I'm looking forward to...

- Your must have beauty item: Revlon Color Stay Liquid Eye Liner and Revision Intellishade SPF 45 Matte Concealer. During the summer I am never without water proof mascara, eyeliner and a bit of SPF to keep the sun and my freckles away.

 

- An item you're lusting over this season: Loving these La mer Bali Bracelets. They are the perfect accessory to throw on with shorts and a tee.

I'm also loving anything colorful, leopard has stripes or is 70's inspired.

- Your favorite trend for spring/summer: Bright Bold Colors and the seventies trend. Loving both of these and they are so fun to wear. I've been experimenting with color blocking and loving all the bell bottoms, hippie inspired looks and so excited to rock shorts, dress and skirt.

- What you're looking forward to this summer: Going to Spain, and visiting my sister in LA. I also hope get in lots of beach trips.

- Your favorite Hollywood Hot Man: it's baseball season, so that's what's on my mind. My current man crushes are on Giants players Brian Wilson and Tim Lincecum and Pat Burell. I'd take any of them ;) I don't know why more girls are fans of baseball.
