Our Weekend
This past weekend was a whirlwind! We had so much fun and it didn't seem like it was gone in a blink of an eye. There was lots of laughs, lots of food, and most importantly some quality time with the girls. We played, cuddled, napped, and ate. I wish all weekends could be like this!
Saturday morning was Ellie's last swim class and Matt's parents came to watch. Ellie has been amazing at swim, but this last month she's hit a wall and is just over it. She's a total fish in family pools, but doesn't care about class. Matt and I went back and forth about switching it up or pushing through and thought it would be best to switch her into another activity for now. We'll enroll her again in swim next Spring. I was kinda sad about her last class, it's been so fun watching her achieve new skills and I really enjoyed watching her, plus her classmate and her parents are so fun and nice!! We're still gonna keep in touch with them, and the mother and I went out for a girls night and had a total blast. Making parent friends can be hard so I try really hard to stay connected to the ones we've met since we moved.
After swim we hustled over to dance class, which is a total hoot. Ellie has so much fun and it's hilarious watching her. She loves to spin and all the different walks they do, she always watches herself in the mirror and gets distracted. She is really enjoying the class and I can't wait for her Christmas program!
When her classes were all said and done we worked up an appetite and we all headed to In and Out for some burgers. The girls were so cute in their hats and Emma was loving the little pieces of burger we were feeding her. She has so much personality and we are just eating it up! She's so silly and loves to smile a big "cheese" face and laughs so hard with her sister. It's so great watching them together!
Saturday night Matt's parents watched the girls for us while we went out for a date. I swear it's been forever since we went out alone. I seriously can't even remember the last time we had dinner just the two of us! We headed out to do some scouting for family pics and found this gorgeous tree and roots my girlfriend told us about, we were obsessed with it. We chose a different place for our pics, but we'll have to go back for some pics another time with this amazing scene!
Sunday morning, I was determined to make it to church! I got up and immediately started getting ready. I wore my hair and makeup from the night before (bad monkey to sleep in it!!), fed and dressed Emma and we made it on time with a few minutes to spare! She was such a delight during all three hours, just laughing and playing. Ellie had a low temp the night before and was still sleeping when we left, so I'm glad she got some extra Zzzz's. She has some molars coming in that are just killer. Poor thing has been loving the extra popsicles though!
We took our family pics and I think they must be the best ones ever! I say that every time though. It was our fifth session with Lovers of Love Photography and they are so incredibly talented. I'm so excited to see them, we got some amazing shots of the girls. They were total hams almost the entire time and definitely feed off of each other. Enchanted Bow Shop made the sweetest floral bows for the girls, they're just gorgeous! When Matt and I were first married I told him that no matter what we are going to take family pictures every single year until we die. Every year! No skipping, no waiting, whatever we have to do to make it happen. I want pics of us and the girls to look back on and cherish and remember their ages and see how much they've grown. It makes me so happy that we've been able to do it so far each year. These pictures mean so much to me!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!! What did you do? What are you looking forward to this week? Thanks for stopping by!!
