I think our parental rite of passage is getting Lincoln to sleep somewhat alone. He slept next to our bed until he was 7 months, then moved to his crib for a month. Because I rocked him to sleep each night he developed a sleep association with me. At 10 months he would only sleep in our bed, kicking my hubs to the guest bed. One night I had a brilliant idea! We moved my husbands old twin bed up against our bed & added a toddler rail. Within a week he was sleeping in the bed alone. It's not our permanent situation, but I can share a bed with my hubs again... Progress!

Thanks for sharing this. It's probably one of my favorite posts. I've been following you for blog for years. I stumbled across it while looking for a blush. I'm pretty sure that we would be friends if we lived in the same city, or state for that matter :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08608942481185321144noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-998910866154708011.post-37255415830592178322015-03-02T15:13:30.528-08:002015-03-02T15:13:30.528-08:00I love this post; it is pretty amazing how much a ...I love this post; it is pretty amazing how much a little munchkin can totally change your world. I think my most memorable parenting rite of passage is when I got my first "real" hug from my little man and hearing him say "mommy" and smiling when I walk into the room. There is something about when they gain that awareness that makes my heart melt.Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10822525396424579340noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-998910866154708011.post-81190911561547112772015-02-18T20:04:03.164-08:002015-02-18T20:04:03.164-08:00I love this post! My biggest fear about becoming a parent is dealing with tummy bugs, but I'm sure I'll be fine :-PKate at Green Fashionistahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11104665064880942943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-998910866154708011.post-37067045118537763842015-02-18T06:28:30.782-08:002015-02-18T06:28:30.782-08:00Love this posting....and I'm definitely not lo...Love this posting....and I'm definitely not looking forward to cleaning up blowouts.
