Bumpdate Week 32

31 Weeks
(Yes, I'm wearing my Old Navy dress again, it's just so comfy!)

How far along? 31 weeks! (Each bumpdate reviews the week previous)

Total weight gain: At my last Dr appointment, I had gained 10.5 lbs, but I’m thinking I’m around 15 lbs now. I have a Dr appointment Friday so I'll know then and post it with next week’s bumpdate.

Stretch marks?: Besides Stretch Mark Gate (read about it here  in Week 28) I haven't had any more pop up and the few I have on the underside of my chest have not grown or gotten worse.  I'm still using the  Burt's Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter every day and I must say, my skin is so soft from it! I'm still using  my Skincare Ormedic Balancing Anti Oxidant Serum on the stretch marks. I figured if it worked miracles on my under eye area it may work miracles for stretch marks too.

Maternity clothes: Getting dressed is so boring now. I feel like I have nothing to wear and I still have 9 weeks left (well now only 8 weeks as of today)! I feel like I wear the same 5 or 6 outfits to work each week. I bought some new dresses (you can see them here in my recent purchases), but I leave for work at 6am and I’m just not brave enough to rock bare legs yet because it’s still freezing at that time, even though it’s warm when I get off work.

I'm still wearing my Old Navy Maternity Smooth-Panel Rockstar Jeggings  (I bought two pairs) and my Kiki La'Rue Jeggings (which aren't maternity, but fit below my belly).  I love these pants, they're all I wear at this point in the game.

My thank you cards from my baby shower are all done and mailed out! I found these pretty ones from Home Goods. I think it's so important to send thank you cards, people appreciate getting them and everyone I know loves getting good mail. It's a manner I'll force teach all my children as well.

Belly Button in or out?: Half and half right now, the top has been out for a while but I had a huge growth spurt Thursday night and my belly button is halfway out now. It looks so weird! I don’t think it will be out that far, but you never know.

Sleep: Sleep is better, I’m still warm and waking up once during the night to use the restroom and baby still prefers for me to sleep on my right side instead of my left, but I’ve woken up to some hip pain. To counteract this I’ve started the night off sleeping on my left to get more time on that side. Good news is that my leg cramps are gone!

Our IKEA Hemnes Dresser! (from this post
We added our own knobs (two different kinds) and contact paper from Home Goods. I'll be doing a full post and where everything is from when the nursery is finished (whenever that may be).

Best moment this week: I’ve had three, first my sister-in-law’s wedding on Friday. It was such a beautiful wedding and I had a great time. It was a total honor being a bridesmaid!

Then on Sunday we had our maternity photos taken with Lovers of Love Photography, we found them through my sister-in-law who used them for their engagement and wedding photos. They’re the sweetest married couple and we had such a great time shooting with them. I can’t wait to get the photos and share them!

After this weekend slowed down a bit, we finally finished the baby’s dresser! I'm so glad to have it done, I also picked up a mirror and two frames. Can't wait to really put everything together.

Worst moment this week: Telling my husband that we need to re-arrange the nursery now that the furniture is in it. LOL. I’ve already had him move things once, and now I want them back to where they were because where I thought I wanted the crib doesn’t leave enough room between the edge of the closet and the edge of the crib. I mean, you don’t have to walk in sideways, but I don’t like how it looks. The room is kind of small and it was hard to envision how everything would look until I had all the furniture in there. The only thing is that the outlet that goes with the light switch is where we have the dresser now, so it totally works, but by switching the crib/dresser, the outlet will be by the crib now instead. So I'm thinking of using a tall lamp by the crib for when I need a lot of light, and using a small lamp on the dresser to turn on for less light/night changings. Boo-hiss.

Have you told family and friends: Yes!

Miss Anything? Seafood! On Monday we went to Red Lobster with the family and I wanted to eat everything on the menu. I miss having clams and mussels (they’re too high in mercury) or eating seafood more than once a week.

I ordered this headband from Groopdealz forever ago and it finally came in!
I love the gem/pearl details in the center of each flower.

Movement: Our little bunny moves all the time. At this point in the pregnancy you’re supposed to count kicks and movement, but I really don’t need to because she’s active so much. You can really tell how much she’s grown because her movements have changed and I can tell she has less room now.

Food cravings: Sprite (I want the carbonation), fruit, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing.

Have you started to show yet: Absolutely!

Can I please tell you how rude people are to pregnant people sometimes? It’s like they don’t have a filter. Yes, lots of people carry things for me, hold open doors, let me cut in front of them in line etc. which I’ve been reveling in, but the things that come out of people’s mouths astound me. Note: these are not the same people who are being so kind either. They say things like “Oh you looked so big before, but now that I’m closer you’re a lot smaller”, “Are you due next week? You look so big, do people tell you how big you look?” Thanks jerk faces! Like I need a reminder, I already know that I’m weighing in close to my husband and my sweatpants are too tight.

Then there’s the sweet women who have been pregnant before saying how pretty you look, how small you are, that you look just how you’re supposed to at this stage. I don’t care if they’re lying through their teeth, I love hearing such nice things. So to everyone reading, please don’t tell a pregnant woman how big they look, that they’re ready to pop, etc. instead compliment them about how they’re glowing and how beautiful they look pregnant. I don’t mind the weight I’ve gained or how I look because I feel great and our little girl will be our greatest joy, but sweet words can turn anyone’s day around in a heartbeat.

I ordered some adorable headbands from The Pink Ruffle on Etsy. They are so soft!

Gender: Team pink!

Symptoms: Still getting the hiccups daily, and I’m getting more and more tired as the weeks go by. I have yet to feel any bursts of energy. My pregnancy has been very easy and I haven’t had any extremes one way or the other which I’m thankful for, but I think that’s why I haven’t had any bursts or energy.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, happy, happy!

What I'm reading: No time for reading with all the excitement around the wedding, but I’ll get back to my routine reading this week. I can’t wait to start The Happiest Baby on the Block, I’ve been dying to read it!

Looking forward to: Putting together the nursery and organizing her room. We’ll move the furniture in the next few days and then I can add all the details her nursery. I’m so excited for it! It will be our most put together room in the apartment. I haven’t hung anything in our place, but I’m definitely going to hang some goodies for her room. Now I only need to paint a few items and pick up some pillows for our rocking chair!

I'm so sorry to hear that people have been mean! :( I would probably say something really hateful in response. People are dumb, that's really all there is to it. I think you look great. To have only gained 10.5 lbs or whatever is awesome. Your Hemnes dresser looks great. We have the black one and I've often thought about changing out the knobs and stuff. Hmm...

Gosh people are rude! Another one I've been getting lately that I think is so rude and NONE of their business is, "Was the baby planned?"

Really? So you are asking about our sex life and how we are planning our family. It's really none of their business.

Can't wait to see the nursery when it's done, I'm sure it will be beautiful. I can only hope I only gain 10 lbs by that point in my pregnancy, you look great Kristen!

Isn't it incredible how mean people can be?! I agree with all the mom's out there who say you look FANTASTIC! With each week you look more beautiful :)

And can I just say that I adore the DIY stuff that you and your hubby added to the Ikea dresser?! I think it is so creative and I love when people put their own personal touches on things.

I don't know if you are into thrift store shopping, but I know a lot of local thrift stores have nice maternity clothing. It is worth a shot, and since they are cheep, you don't have to worry about only wearing them for a few months. AND, since most women don't wear them very long, you can sometimes find really nice name brand clothing that looks almost new. Or, Burlington coat factories' Baby depot has some inexpensive maternity clothing too :-)

Lord, people are rude. Ignore them. You look great! Cannot wait to see the nursery. We have a small space too and it's been a headache trying to envision where everything is going to go. LOVE the contact paper idea ... so simple but so much nicer!
