I wore/bought these lashes as well for my Bachelorette Party on the 2nd night in the fuschia dress. They're the same ones Kim Kardashian often wears and even though they feel really lightweight, they are ridiculously long. Like clown-like almost.
I've been on the look out for some shorts that are short, but not short-shorts. Also some with a tailored edge, however, they are no where to be found! The sweet Vanessa ofNessa Loves Makeup foun some super cute ones for me at PacSun, but they didn't hit a good place on my legs. Such a bummer because I loved them. These shorts are the perfect length and the cuff are pretty cute.
F21 Cotton Short w/ Striped Belt in Denim Product Code: 2074245057
I found these shorts and they totally fit the bill for what I was looking for. They're not really denim, just cotton made to look like denim. They're still short, but not bootie shorts. It's a really flattering length and I'm looking forward to dressing them up this summer.
F21 Racerback Tank in Neon Pink Product Code: 2000012313
So I know this kind of looks like a work out tank, and maybe it will eventually end up as one, but the bright color just screams summer to me. It will look great layered with a white tank (it's kind of low cut IRL), some layered jewelry and my cut-offs.
I saw this shirt/tunic worn as a dress last summer at a club. The girl told me she bought it at F21 and I scoured the website and stores the rest of the month. When I saw this pop up online I knew I HAD to have it. It's so cute by itself over shorts/pants, but also make a great cover-up. It's barely long enough to be worn as a dress, so I'm looking forward to wearing it on our Honeymoon.
Girls, high-waisted shorts are NOT for me. Definitely not. I thought these shorts were so cute, I loved the outlined pockets and the color and thought that I might be hip enough to pull off wearing them around my hips. Then I got home and tried them again that way and the crotch area hangs way too low. When I showed my mom, she told me "I lived in the high-waisted time, and I didn't even like it then."
My Lust List
American Apparel Medium Leather Carry-All Pouch in Tan
I love clutches. I have tons of colors and different sizes. I've had my eye on this purse for a LONG time and after this post at A Piece of Toast I'm dead set on getting it. My birthday is coming up and I'm hoping this will magically show up on my door step. Hint hint. :D
I also bought several books, The Help and Water for Elephants after reading them I had to own them and went on a hunt. FYI the best retail stores for them are: Costco for Water for Elephants ($8.99) and Target for The Help ($17.49) - only available in hardback, paperback won't be out for months (according to the Barnes and Noble associate). At Costco, I also picked up Jane Eyre, Still Alice, Little Bee and The Alchemist. I’ve found that when I buy books before reading them they usually suck, but Costco said I can bring them back if I don’t like them. I’ve missed out on so many books there because I don’t buy them when I see them, read them later and love them. They’re all around $8.99 for paperback so that’s a steal! I work across the street from the library so I'll check them out from there, I don't want to return used books to Costco- that's kind of ghetto.
Ok, I think this is my last shopping extravaganza. Boo hoo hoo. I'm putting a self-imposed ban on purchasing unnecessary items (like clothes or make-up). I've been cleaning my room and sorting out old summer clothes and I really don't need anymore. I did need some shorts bc I no longer fit into my old shorts, not that I care though! I've never had shapely thighs or a rear-end so bring it on (to those areas only please, leave my buddha belly alone). These two pair, plus another pair that still fit will be enough to get me by. Plus, the wedding is coming up so fast and the Mister will be placing a permanent ban on all shopping so I might as well get a headstart.
What have you been buying or eyeing for the summer? Do you have any of these items? Have you read any of the books?
Who was at Targt at 8am to get the new Femme Fatale cd? This girl. Who has been listening to it non-stop? This girl. Who has 3 concert t-shirts of Britney? This girl. Who has seen two of her concerts and nearly died of excitement each time? This girl. I love her.
I'm so happy to be working with Dove again! I've worked with them in the past here, here, and here. My family is huge Dove fans and after trying their new conditioner and deordorant in past reviews I have used them ever since. Even my hair dresser noticed my hair is healthier after using their hair products.
So I jumped at the chance to work with them again for their new Dove VisibleCare Creme Body Washes.Their new formula contains "their highest concentration of NutriumMoisture yet—contains skin-natural building blocks to help improve your skin’s look over time, giving you visible results in just 1 week when used daily."
The Dove VisibleCare Crème Body Washes are available in two formulas: Renewing, which nourishes and replenishes, and Softening, which softens skin and dry spots. I tried out their Softening formula, my skin is getting kind of dry with this crazy hot/cold weather and I needed all of the conditioning my skin could get.
Here's what I liked/noticed about the product:
- It's very thick and creamy Usually, with body washes, when it says "cream" I've found that they're usually just white and not very thick. This bodywash is really thick and soft. It's not runny or oily either and lathers up really well in both a loofah and a regular hand towel (I tested them both).
- The scent is soft and clean I usually like washes that are all full of perfume and fruity scents, but this wash smells clean. The aroma isn't overwhelming and helped make me feel so fresh and so clean-clean.
- My dry skin has improved With the weather going back and forth from hot to cold, my skin freaks out and gets dry and itchy. I use lotion everyday to help with the matter but when the weather is on the fritz, so is my skin. I was hoping that by changing my soaps to something with more moisturize it would help with the dryness and looked forward to trying this out. My biggest problem areas are my arms by my elbows and the skin surrounding my knees. I have a mild case of eczema and have seen doctors about it in the past, but because it's so mild they just recommend and OTC cream. I've been using the soap for over a week now and have noticed that these areas are a lot less itchy. I'm not saying it cured my eczema, but it did help to moisturize the skin which caused my itchiness to lessen.
To be honest, although I love my Dove conditioner and deordorant, I really wasn't expecting this soap to be anything special. Our house uses their bar soap and my sensitive skin loves it, but I wasn't sure that their bodywash would provide me with anything more than what the bar soap did. I was pleasantly surprised by the moisture and creaminess of the wash and plan to continue using it in the future.

What did you ladies do this weekend? The Fiance was gone for his BFF's/Best Man's bachelor party (see his Man Shower here) so I took full advantage of the weekend. I played 3rd wheel to my bff and her husband and saw The Lincoln Lawyer, it was such a great film! Definitely worth seeing in the theatre, but would be just as good on DVD.
Saturday I headed to LA to a rum bar to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was so great to catch up with all my college friends, we had a great time. Then I went shopping with my Mom, Aunt and a friend for wedding stuff and totally scored on apothecary jars at Home Goods and my Mom found a gorgeous dress from Macy's for the wedding. I'm so excited, only 40 days left!
The Fiance's bff and Best Man, A is getting married two weeks before us, and A's little brother T is getting married a month after us and their mother threw them a "man" shower a few weeks ago. It was my first time attending one, but I have heard of it before. It's similar to a bridal shower, but the men register for manly things like tools instead of kitchen stuff. It was a lot of fun and nice to do something fun for the groom instead of always for the bride.
Here's the Fiance and I with A (they are each other's Best Mans)
Groom T with the Fiance and I
All the boys together
The Fiance's Mother and A and T's mother made quilts together for the boys (they also made one for the Fiance and I too, you can see it in this post)
Such a funny and creative gift, boxers strung on a jumper cable!
At the shower, we even played the Toilet Paper Wedding Dress game, which was hilarious!
The shower was a hoot! It was a ton of fun and it being centered around the boys was hilarious and very sweet. I can't wait for their weddings, it's going to be two months of wedding mania in these households!!
